Chapter 19. Turmoil of Events

Midday inside the University, Mikha decided not to join her friends for lunch. She knows Aya will speak to them, breaking the information about her relationship with Keiro. Instead, her feet drag her to the music room, and sits in front of a piano. Fiddling with the keys, finding the rhythm of what she wishes at the moment. Then, she started singing her soul out to words she could not express (Save by Faime). When the song ended, she can hear someone clapping behind her.

Mikha turned around and found Vxon standing at the door. Hey! It is you again! Are you following me?

Yes, and no. I was looking for you at the cafeteria, but you were not there. It happens I passed this way and heard you singing. Vxon explained and sits beside her.

Mikhs finds it bizarre meeting Vxon in her vulnerable state each time. He inflicted pain twice, but there is something about him that makes her to entrust her thoughts. He is a breath of fresh air that lightens up her mood every chance their path crosses.

Weekend comes. Everyone in the group gathered in a restaurant Mikhs booked for the big announcement. Everybody has a partner who they met at victory ball and ended up pairing with them, except for Mikhs.

Colete appeared with Mo, Jho with Tane, Gwene with Patrick, Audrey with Gino, Maloe with Jl, Sheen with Joao. Aya arrives last, holding hands with Keiro. They were all teasing Mikhs for being a lone wolf, but after a while, they saw someone waving at her.

Mikhs approached Vxon and guided him to their table. Everyone, I would like you to meet Vxon, the team captain of the football team.

Sorry, am I late. I was searching for a place to park my car. Vxon explained, sounding breathless.

No, it's alright, they won't mind. Mikhs responded, then dragged him to sit next to her.

How did you two know each other? I have not heard Mikha talking about you. Colete scrutinizing Vxon.

Hey, you guys, quit pestering Vxon with your question. We are here for Aya and Keiro, remember? Mikhs butted in to avoid her friends from asking a question. Aya looks at her roommate. She saw them together twice. Even in the music room one lunchtime, when Mikhs did not join them.

Then, Keiro voiced out the good news. "Yes, after a long agony of courting, at last she gave her yes to me."

It seems like you have remorse doing the things for me, after giving my yes to you, huh? Aya felt offended, pouting like a kid from the revelation.

No, What I was meaning to say was, I am happy to get to know more of you. Keiro bursting with happiness while looking at Aya.

Awss...so sweet. I hope, same as with all the guys out there. Audrey presenting a sharp look to Gino, making a poker face in front of everyone. What a brat, they said and laughing at her response.

Vxon noticed how Mikhs felt uneasy, and he asked if she was OK. Mikhs nodded as a reply. Vxon clangs his arm around her, caressing her back, showing assurance she was not alone. He whispered, please let me know if you want to leave. Mikhs looks at him and smiled, mouthing, "thanks."

Aya was sitting across from them, and she never misses the subtle interaction. She feels jealous, not the one comforting her best friend. They seemed distant since beginning of the year. They have not bonded for a long time because of their busy schedules. One of this day, she will cook their favourite food and do a film night, just like the old times.

The night is still young, but Mikhs appeared like needing to leave and be away from the group. She encouraged Vxon to go somewhere else.

Sorry, guys, but Mikhs and I could not stay longer. We have to attend to another party. Vxon apologizes to the group and held the chair for Mikhs to stand.

I am so sorry. I will make it up to you next time. Aya and Keiro congratulations again. Mikhs hugged both before leaving and waved to her friends. Colete can sense something was up with Mikhs.

Vxon invited her to watch his friend's gig in one of the famous bars in the city. "I bet you will like her. Perhaps she will be your way to forget Aya." Mikhs just smiled at his comment.
