"JEFF, WHAT'S GOING on? What's the matter with her? Why won't she wake up?" Newt walked into the med-jacks area, being followed by Olivia, Minho and Thomas. "Hey man, I got my job the same way you did." Jeff said calmly.Olivia looked over at Alby, who was shaking and crying. She breathed in and turned away. Thomas was zoned out, looking at the passed out girl. "Do you recognise her?" She asked him. "No." His voice cracked. "Really? 'Cause she seemed to recognise you." Newt turned to face him. "What about the note?" Thomas blinked and looked into Olivia's eyes.
Olivia broke the eye contact to look at Newt, who was squinting at them both. "We'll worry about the note later."
"I think we should worry about it now." Her voice stern. "We've got enough to deal with at the moment." Newt looked at her. "She's right, Newt. The box isn't coming back up. How long do you think we can last?" Jeff sided with her. "No one said that. Let's not jump to any conclusions. We just—we just wait until she wakes up and see what she knows." Newt looked back at the sleeping girl.
Olivia and Thomas looked at each other, almost like they were subconsciously trying to figure each other out. "Somebody's gotta have some answers around here." The blonde boy spoke up again, making them turn their heads towards him. "Okay." Thomas whispered and began to walk away. Olivia furrowed her eyebrows and followed after him. "Where are you going?" She caught up to him. "Back into the maze."
"Are you crazy? You really do have a death wish." She scoffed. He didn't look at her once, keeping his eyes focused on the entrance to the maze. "Thomas. Hey, hey!" Minho ran up and stood in front of him. "What is this with you, huh? You got a death wish? You just got out. Now you want back in?"
Thomas sighed. Both Minho and Olivia were looking at him like he was insane. "Newt said that nobody's ever seen a Griever and lived to tell about it, right? Now we have one." He held his hand in the direction of the maze. "You're telling me you're not even a little bit curious?" He looked at Olivia and raised his eyebrows. "Not really. No." Minho answered. Thomas then tried to walk around him, but was stopped by Minho's hand on his chest. "So, what's the plan? You gonna go out there and dissect that thing by yourself?" Minho said under his breath.
"Are you joking?" Olivia tilted her head at them. Minho looked at her but quickly looked back at Thomas, who refused to look in her direction. She squinted her eyes at him. "I will if I have to. Have the other runners left yet?"
"The other runners quit this morning." Minho turned and looked at them. "After Alby got stung, they're not in any hurry to get back out there. Why are you?" Minho looked Thomas up and down. "I think it's time we find out what we're really up against." He glanced at Olivia, who was already looking at him.
"I'm going with you." She stated. "No you're not, you're injured." He looked at her and gestured to the bandage. "It's fine. You're not going alone." She tried to argue. "I'll go with him." Minho agreed with what Thomas was saying. "You see a Griever and you run. I love you but you're not exactly the first person I'd trust to stick by my side in that situation." Olivia tried to explain without being mean.
