THE GROUP RAN through the maze, Minho leading. They took a few turns before they all stopped and turned their heads. The Grievers legs were still sticking out, just like they were this morning. Its insides had slid down the walls and were piled up underneath its squished body."That's disgusting." Olivia scrunched her face up. One of the runners agreeing with her. "There's something in there." Thomas took a step closer. "You mean besides a Griever pancake?" One of the taller boys joked. Everyone took a step closer, trying to look for what Thomas was talking about.
Minho looked at Olivia before walking over in front of it. "Woah. Woah. Woah. What are you doing?" Thomas's voice echoed. Minho then lifted up his arm and stuck it in between the walls. Olivia went to step forward and stop him but Thomas put his arm out in front of her, keeping her behind him.
Everyone took a step forward in sync as Minho continued to feel around for God knows what. He looked at the leg and back before pushing his arm deeper in. One of the legs suddenly started to move, making everyone yell and jump back. Olivia had subconsciously immediately reached for Thomas's shirt. He turned to look at her to see if she was okay, making her let go and clear her throat. "I thought you said it was dead?" Frypan spoke loudly.
"What was it, reflex?" The blonde runner looked at everyone. "You hope." The boy next to him said, making Olivia chuckle. Everyone watched it carefully to make sure it wasn't moving. "Okay. Come on. Let's try and pull it out." Thomas walked forward and grabbed one of its legs, all the boys copying his action. "Yeah, Um. I'm good, actually." Olivia raised her eyebrows. She didn't want to get near the slimy guts.
The boys shook their heads but started to pull anyway. "Okay, ready? On three. One, two, three." They all grunted as they used all of their body strength. Olivia stood back, trying not to laugh at them. The arm disconnected from the body, making them fall backwards. They got up while the girl walked closer to the now dismembered arm. "You okay, Fry?" Thomas helped him up.
While everyone was looking at the arm, Minho looked at the body, only now noticing something in the pile of guts. Olivia gagged when he stuck his hand into it.
He held it to the side while he inspected it, along with everyone else. He grabbed it with his other hand to get a better look. He then began to dig his hand inside of it. Olivia looked around at everyone's faces. They all looked like this was a normal thing. "Is this not disgusting to anyone else?"
Thomas looked over to her and chuckled at the disgusted face she was making. Once Minho had got whatever he was pulling out, he dropped what looked like an organ on to the floor, a string of goo connected to his hand.
He held up something metal, something that definitely should not be inside a living things body. It had wires coming out of the top and a red blinking light that made a faint beeping noise. "What the hell is that?" Thomas asked.
