The girls have been keeping a secret for months now.
Something just for them...and they wanted to keep it that way. For now.
They didn't even need to say it out loud. It was understood from the beginning.
And so far neither had much in the way of complaints.

After the emotional night following Anya's dinner, Lexa was beyond relieved when Clarke texted her later that same day after leaving her place, to not have gone more than a few hours of uncertainty and nerves starting to strangle her all over again just like after their awkward post-Harry Potter marathon days of uncertainty.
From there, Lexa was the one who set in motion the wheels of their little secretive arrangement that would eventually bring them into summer.
A summer where the hot California days apart left for even hotter weekend nights together, as they fell into an almost weekly cadence, as long as their schedules allowed.
