Scarlett Redd

Tonight is the last game of the season.

This also means that finals are around the corner.

I've spent the bulk of this week dodging Vinny after the whole Jenna situation. I just couldn't handle it right now.

The campus is filled with flyers for the game tonight. Someone even handed me one at the library, where I simply tossed it right back at them.

"Scar, are you planning to stay here all night?!" Kaia asks as she begins to grab her books.

"Exams start Monday, might as well use this as crunch time," I argue.

"You've been studying hard all week. Why don't you come out for a change? Maybe consider coming to the game with us?"

That's the last place I want to be and everyone knows it.

We never spoke about our plans after his signing. Maybe this is our chance to get out. End it before it hurts us even more.

He's gonna be signed soon to LA Kings or somebody else, and I'm gonna be back here for the fall term. It just doesn't make sense to dwell on something like this.

We still have the whole month of April for exams, and I technically have nowhere to be afterward, but I would rather cut my losses now.

He's going to be a father... To Jenna's baby. Well, his baby too.

I just don't think I can be that person for him. Be a stepmother one day to that evil witch's child.

It would be Vincent's child too, ugh.

"Scar! Are you listening? Seriously, everyone's gonna be at the game tonight, I think you should reconsider," Kaia tries to argue.

"I don't think I can come, Kai, just, not right now," I mumble as I start to make more notes for my 2500 marketing exam.

"You gotta come to the after party at least! It's the last of the year. Please!"

"Ugh, fine, I'll make it when I can, just head on out without me," I groan to dismiss Kaia so she can leave.

The library empties out awfully fast around five since the game starts in an hour.

My phone hasn't stopped ringing for the last fifteen. It was Vincent. Did he not get the hint, I don't want to talk to him right now.

I put my phone on Do Not Disturb and get back to studying for another hour.

The puck drop should be happening right now, I think to myself as I finish up on my notes.

Maybe I should stop by.

I look at my phone for the first time in almost an hour. Not only did Vincent call, but everyone did.

The guys, the girls, even Liz.

I reply to the texts from the girls and tell them I should be coming in a bit. They continued to flood my phone after that while I read through the guy's text.

Chase asked if I was coming and I didn't answer since he couldn't look at his phone on the ice.

Seb told me I have to get my ass to the house after the game even if I don't come.

Dante texted me asking why I wouldn't show, while Thomas begged me to come for Vin.

Vin's messages consisted of 'we need to talk' and 'I hope to see you tonight' texts.

Now to call Liz...

"Scarlett, honey, where are you? It's the last game of the year," she shouts over the noise.
