*Tw: light mentions of sexual assault and the word r*** is used*Aurora had been walking ahead of Bellamy and truthfully, she didn't know how to talk to him without her mouth or her eyes saying too much, it's not that she was in love with him, but she could see herself getting there eventually, for the moment she was just heavily attracted to him and the way he talks, and looks, and moves and–
shit
Bellamy wasn't a bad guy, sure he acted quiet and shut off to the world, but just she could tell it was only a wall he had put up, and sometimes, he let her in, and in those moments when it was just the two of them talking, had to be some of her favorites.
She thought back to one of the old conversations they had when they were still in the CDC, discussing their life before the outbreak, while Bellamy didn't reveal too much, he did tell her he used to be a builder, chewing her cheek as she climbed up a steep hill, she wondered if she could use that as leverage to start a conversation
"So Bob the builder, how many houses did you build," she asked before cringing at herself, hating the way she worded the question
'how many houses did you build' she questioned herself 'pathetic, what does that even mean???'
Bellamy, who had been walking behind her the whole time, half for her protection and half for his amusement–in his defense, he did try to not look, had been stumped at her question, for a second, he almost forgot his life before the outbreak, so how did she remember it
"you remember that?" He asked her, catching up with her and waking in time with her footsteps, which he didn't struggled to do, his legs were a lot longer than hers
" Clearly," she answered glancing at him quickly before looking away trying not to make herself seem so obsessed with him
" a few I guess, only for rich assholes," he said kicking a rock, he also was confused by her question, why did she want to know how many houses he built, it was so irrelevant
" cool," she answered awkwardly, clearly struggling to move on from the embarrassment, she could hear the questioning in Bellamy's tone as well as feel it in the way he was looking at her with his brows creased deep in thought
" is it?" he asked trying to figure out what was going on with her and why she was asking such an unnecessary question
" no, I was just trying to make conversation," she grumbled rolling her eyes, trying to speed up so Bellamy would stop looking at her, for her cheeks were growing hotter and hotter by the second
"Okay then talk to me about why you're all of a sudden fine with Shane?" He inquired, not caring about whether or not she wanted to talk about it, it's not like she could get away from him, he was a tracker after all." I'd rather not," she mumbled ashamed, for she didn't really know why, somehow, Shane had managed to manipulate Aurora into believing he wasn't going to hurt her, and even though it had worked on Rory, it wasn't going to work on Bellamy
