𝚃𝙷𝙸𝚁𝙳 𝙿𝙴𝚁𝚂𝙾𝙽'𝚂 𝙿𝙾𝚅"And there's one more boy, he's from my past" Dakota sings as she stands in the middle of a line to order food. She, Sky, and Lilliana had run inside a store not too long ago but they somehow got split up. She figured after getting food, she would find them walking somewhere. "Nice voice. Good to know that you still got it" Someone comments behind Dakota. Kody takes out one of her AirPods and looks back.
"Javon?".
"Hey, Kods".
"No way!" Dakota slaps her hand against her jaw-dropped mouth as her ex-boyfriend stands in front of her, smiling. "It's you!" Kody says in disbelief. "Oh shit" She laughed while holding her arms out. Javon seemed surprised by her actions but gave into the hug regardless. "What are you doing here?" Dakota asked. "Visting someone" Javon answers as they both stepped out of line to talk.
"Same!" Kody chimed as they were already having something in common after not seeing each other for a very long time.
How could you blame her? After all, It had been a whole year. The way they ended things was something Dakota could never forget. They used to be the best of friends before they got together, sharing a bond so strong and deep that not even she and Sky could match it. Her heart was racing, but she didn't know if it was out of panic or happiness."I had no idea you had folks in Australia" Dakota says. "Same for you" Wanna tells her.
After that, they made eye contact. It wasn't awkward. The situation itself was surprisingly nice something that Kody didn't expect at all. "Well..." Dakota trailed off and pressed her lips together. "Yeah" Javon scratches the back of his head. "I should head back to my friends" Kody says before she looks back at the lined-up shops in hopes of finding her girlfriend and new friend. "You do that" Javon nodded grabbing her attention again. "Just hit me up" He added. "I got you" Kody says while hitting his firm chest with the back of her hand. She leaves Javon Walton's side after giving him another smile.
"Unblock me first!".
"Ha! You're funny" Dakota laughed just as she spotted Sky and Lilliana walking out of Foot Locker. "Guys!" Kody called out to get their attention. The duo looks behind them at the same time hearing the familiar voice say their names. "There she is!" Sky breathes. "Hey..." Kody half smiles. "I called you. Multiple times... Did you get lost or something?" Sky asked concerned for her girlfriend. She felt that she should have stuck by her side. It was a new area for Dakota, and it would be a lie to say that Skylar wasn't in panic mode the whole time they were apart.
It made it no better when Dakota didn't answer her calls— something she always tried to do regardless of what she was doing.
"Nah. Nah, I went to go get some cheese fries and a drink" Dakota told the two girls to ease their worry. Sky looked her up and down before tilting her head. "Where are they?" She asked. "Ah! Right..." Kody mentally face-palmed herself and came up with something on the spot. "They got my order wrong so I threw it all away" She lied. It was a good thing she was an actress. If it was anyone else, they would've seen right through it. "At this point, people should not have jobs like..." Lilliana says before she started to rant about random workers who couldn't do their jobs right. They all walked off together, Lilliana ahead of the couple and the couple trailing behind her.
Sky's hand latched onto her girlfriend's as they walked. "You look like you've seen a ghost back there" She tries to joke. Seeing as Kody wasn't in a joking mood, again, Sky nudged her side with her elbow. "Babe, are you okay?" She asked. Kody closed her eyes and sighed. "Yeah, I'm fine" Dakota forced a smile. Skylar didn't buy it though. She had been around Dakota long enough to know how she operated. Dakota had something on her mind and she was going to figure out what it was. "Sky, I'm fine" Dakota reassured her concerned girlfriend by squeezing her hand and kissing it. Sky studied the girl again and decided to drop it for now.
"Okay" the New Yorker muttered.
Dakota felt more relieved after that and dragged Sky along with Lilliana into a store she spotted.
"Let's go!" She beamed.
