There is a knock on the door of my office and I call out for the person to come in.

The door opens, revealing my aunt Mina, who steps in the office closing the door behind her "Chanyeol said you wanted to see me."

"I did. Please sit." I motion to the chairs in front of me.

I wait for her to sit before I speak "As I'm sure you've heard, Lee Sung-Kyung was responsible for the recent attacks."

She nods, taking in a sharp breath "Yes I did."

"And I'm sure you've also heard why."

She nods again in confirmation.

I sigh "I have something difficult to ask of you. However, you have full liberty to tell me no and I won't be upset." I pause before continuing "Apparently your husband's affair was more recent than we thought, meaning that the child he fathered with Sung-Kyung is still a baby, with no memory of his father or mother. If you would be willing, I wanted to ask of you would take the child in since Alpha Kim has decided the child will be placed in our care. If you aren't, I completely understand. Yoongi and I will take the child in and raise him as our own and he will only know his true bloodline if you say it is okay."

Aunt Mina is silent for a few minutes and I give her time. She opens her mouth a few times like she is going to say something, but she never does. "You don't need to make a decision now. Think about it. But I do want to let you know that the new Alpha of the Lee pack will be dropping the baby off here tomorrow. Until you make a decision, he will stay here in the house."

She nods and stands from the chair "Thank you for giving me a choice Chaeyeon. I will think about it and let you know."

"I wouldn't force something like this on anyone, let alone you. Thank you for even considering it."

She simply nods before leaving the room. Once the door is closed again I let out a heavy sigh. We don't have a choice but to take the child. His father was part of our direct bloodline and unfortunately, unless the council decides otherwise, if the mother dies, the child is placed in the care of the father's bloodline. Yoongi and I aren't necessarily ready to have the responsibility of a pup, but if Aunt Mina is unwilling, I have a duty to fulfill as pack alpha and so does Yoongi as my mate. My mother has offered to raise the pup, but she is getting older and if she were to, the pup would become mine and Yoongi's responsibility anyway after she dies.

There is another knock on the door, shaking me from my thoughts. The door opens and Chaewon steps in, shutting the door behind her. "Is something wrong?" I ask my sister

She shakes her head "Nope. Just wanted to check on you. A lot has happened, and you've been very quiet since we exposed Sung-Kyung last week."

I shrug "I have things to take care of. What happened, happened. It's been talked about, I don't feel the need to keep talking about it. There are things going on that are out of my control, so I've been focusing on the things that are in my control."

"You mean the baby." Chaewon references the thing that is out of my control.

"Yes, the baby. Aunt Mina, understandingly, needs some time to think about it. So until she makes a decision, the pup is my responsibility and could continue to be afterwards if Aunt Mina wants nothing to do with it."

"Are you and Yoongi ready for that?"

"We don't really have a choice but to be. Jeongho decided that this pack would raise the child."

"What if I take the baby?" Chaewon suggests, hesitantly.

I quickly shake my head "No. You are unmated and my Beta. You have responsibilities to this pack, and raising a child that is not yours, is not one of them."
