'I've noticed more wolves out on your side. Is everything okay?'

'We are just having more issues with vamps getting onto our land. So we added to patrol to try to deter it and make sure everyone has back up.'

Yoongi and I are currently walking back towards where the border between our land starts, which is where we normally meet each other for a run.

'I could see if my brother would be willing to increase patrols over here to try to maybe catch any before they get here if they are on our land.'

'I appreciate the offer but unless you guys start having problems, it would just exhaust your patrol for no reason. Plus, the less wolves involved, the less likely we are to be caught.'

Yoongi says nothing. He gets that our packs aren't ready to know about our pairing yet, but when I told him what Chanyeol did and why, he expressed disappointment that I feel we need to hide like this. I think a lot of that has to do with my lack of trust with him and he's disappointed about that too.

After a few minutes of his silence I sigh 'Yoongi I want to trust you. Our packs had a good enough relationship when our fathers ran things. But we have a long history of being at odds and your brother seems intent on honoring that history. So for the safety of my pack it's just hard to fully trust you right now.'

'I know. I understand, really, I do. My brother is a bit of a tyrant. But it is still just a little disappointing.'

This time I am quiet while trying to think of a way to make him feel better about this while also keeping my pack safe. By the time I think of a possible solution we have reached the beginning of our boarder and Yoongi starts to turn away from me.

'See you tomorrow.'

'Yoongi wait.'

He pauses, turning his large body back around to face me, his head cocked to the side in curiosity.

'What if tomorrow, you come over here and actually join me for a run instead of just running on your side?'

'Sure. Sounds good.'

'Chanyeol will want to be here, but he'll give us space.'

'That's fine. I get why. See you tomorrow then.' His tone this time is happier, so I am satisfied and let him walk away.

'I'll stay back and mind my business. But do me a favor and at least keep the pack side open, just in case.' Chanyeol requests as we walk out to meet Yoongi.

'That was my plan. Thank you for keeping this to yourself.'

'I may be your patrol lead, but I'm also your cousin and he seems like a decent dude. I do want you to be happy.'

From a distance I can see where Yoomgi is waiting and I can't help but to get a little excited, quickening my pace to a trot. I open our mate link on my side and am immediately greeted by Yoongi's amused chuckle.

'Happy to see me?'

'Don't make fun of me or I will turn around.'

'Alright fine. I'm sorry.' He still has a slight laugh to his voice.

'Try and keep up.' I playfully challenge him before taking off.

'Hey!' Yoongi shouts before coming over our border and chasing after me.
