After a much needed long, hot shower, you changed into comfortable attire and settled onto your bed, intending to succumb to sleep's embrace. But your mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, each one more troubling than the last. The stalker who you had deemed 'not worth your time' had definitely upped his level and the chilling realisation that they might have tracked your whereabouts sent shivers down your spine, his pursuit was haunting you every moment.

As the wind howled outside, causing the leaves to dance and whisper, a sudden sense of unease gripped you, like invisible fingers tightening around your throat. You glanced out the window, the tranquil beauty of Jujutsu Tech's gardens offering little solace as an ominous feeling of being watched washed over you. Goosebumps prickled across your skin, your heart drumming a frantic rhythm in your chest, you felt as if someone was hiding in the forest looking directly at you.

Before you could gather the courage to investigate further, a sharp rap at your door shattered the fragile silence, sending you tumbling off the bed in a panicked frenzy. As you scrambled to your feet, the intruder outside took it as an invitation, attempting to breach the locked door. With trembling hands, you approached the barrier between you and the unknown, your heart lodged firmly in your throat. Each knock reverberated through the room like a death knell, your mind consumed by a single, desperate plea.

With a shaky breath, you unlocked the door, your eyes squeezed shut as you whispered a mantra of fear and desperation.

"Please don't kill me.

Please don't kill me.

Please don't kill me."

" Hey, you okay?" Megumi's soft voice brought you back to earth. His hands were on your shoulders, his touch soft and protective , his eyes searching your face and his posture tense. It's Megumi and he is worried, you realized, he is worried for you. No intruder, no stalker it is your Megumi.

The huge wave of relief that went through your body made you hug him tightly. "I am now," you whispered into his ear, nuzzling into the crook of his neck. It took him a moment, but he returned the embrace, holding you close. As you slowly pulled away, you both realized you were still standing in the doorway, exposed to anyone passing by. With a quick tug, you ushered him inside and closed the door behind him.

" So how's your head?" you ask quietly as you looked at him, he was so close yet not so close at the same time. He touched where the bandage was and smiled.

" It's fine, a pretty girl patched me up pretty well" You blushed at his smoothness.

"I think you might have hit your head a little too hard," you teased, a shy smile playing on your lips as you noticed the softness in his eyes. He inched closer, the tension between you palpable.

"Anyway, would you like something to eat? I have some instant cup noodles," you offered, trying to lighten the mood. Megumi cleared his throat, sensing the growing tension, and nodded.

"Instant noodles sound perfect. I can help," he offered, stepping closer to the kitchen. You insisted he sit and wait, but he stayed by your side as you worked, the quiet companionship filling the room with a sense of warmth and ease.

"I like your book collection," Megumi remarked, his eyes wandering over the small stack.

"You can borrow them if you want," you offered, pouring hot water into the cups and closing the lids, "if you let me borrow yours."

"Sounds like a fair trade," he replied, his gaze softening as he noticed the fatigue in your eyes.He was good at reading people and he could see that something was bothering you.

" you don't have to lie to me, you know," he began.

" I am not lying about anything" you said, confused as to what he meant. As he spoke, his words hung heavy in the air, laden with uncertainty and vulnerability. With a deep breath, he mustered the courage to voice the thoughts that had been haunting him all day. "You can't pretend you're fine in front of me," he began, his voice catching slightly. "I can tell something is bothering you." Swallowing hard, he steeled himself for the inevitable heartache that seemed to loom on the horizon.
