The sound of keys, shut everyone up, your excited voice filtered through as you opened the door.
"I can't believe how happy I—" You flicked on the lights, only to freeze in place as everyone jumped out from their hiding spots, shouting in unison.
"Congratulations!!"
Confetti popped, balloons bounced, and laughter filled the room as you stood there, wide-eyed and utterly surprised. Megumi, standing beside you, wore a sheepish smile, clearly pleased with the successful surprise.
"Oh my gosh!" you exclaimed, hand over your heart. "What is all this?"
"It's a surprise engagement party!" Yuta exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear.
"You guys..." You were at a loss for words as you took in the decorations and the smiling faces of your friends.
"We couldn't let this moment pass without celebrating," Maki said warmly, stepping forward to hug you. "Congratulations, you two."
Megumi wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you close. "I wanted tonight to be special," he said softly, looking at you with love in his eyes. "And it's even better with all of our friends here."
"You did all this?" you asked him, feeling overwhelmed with happiness.
He nodded. "With a little help," he admitted, glancing at the others who were now chatting and laughing together.
"You sneaky fox," you teased, kissing him on the cheek. "Thank you."
The party continued with lively chatter and heartfelt congratulations. Yuji and Nobara regaled you with stories of how they nearly blew the surprise multiple times, making everyone laugh. Choso presented you with a beautifully wrapped gift, his usual stoic demeanor softened by the joy of the occasion. Gojo, ever the entertainer, started a spontaneous dance-off that had nobody but Yuji and Yuta joining in.
As the evening wore on, you found yourself surrounded by warmth and love, feeling grateful for each person in the room. The night was filled with toasts, good food, and moments that would become cherished memories. It was a celebration of love, friendship, and the beginning of a new chapter in your life.
As you and Megumi stole quiet moments together amidst the festivities, you couldn't help but think how lucky you were to have found each other. Amidst all the laughter and joy, one thing was certain—this was the start of something beautiful, and you couldn't wait to see what the future held.
