Jax had always felt like an outsider in the orphanage. As a newborn, he had been left on the doorstep, abandoned by his parents. The mistress who ran the orphanage was kind and loving, but even her care couldn't erase the pain of being unwanted. Jax yearned for the love and affection of a family, but as the years passed, he began to feel like he would never be adopted. The other children at the orphanage avoided him, sensing his sadness, and Jax found himself alone and isolated.
Despite the mistress's efforts to make him feel included, Jax couldn't shake the feeling of emptiness inside him. He tried to put on a brave face, forcing a smile even when he felt like crying. But deep down, he longed for the love of a family that would never come.
Then tragedy struck. The mistress, the one person who had shown him genuine care and affection, died in a car crash. Jax was devastated, feeling like he had lost the only person who truly understood him. The burden of grief weighed heavily on him, and he struggled to find a reason to go on.
As Jax lay in bed, thinking about his past, he couldn't help but wonder what his life would have been like if he had been wanted. If his parents had kept him, if he had grown up in a loving home surrounded by family, would he be where he is currently? Would he still be haunted by holding self-hatred?
Just then, Jax's phone buzzed with a notification, pulling him out of his reverie. "Huh? Zooble?" he muttered to himself in confusion. What could she possibly want now? It was rare for Jax to receive a message from her of all people. Curiosity getting the best of him, he opened the message to see what she had to say.
The message contained a photo of Pomni with Ragatha, the two of them looking stylish. "Since you two are roommates, I wanted to know if you liked this outfit," the message read. Jax's eyes widened in surprise. This was unexpected. Why would Pomni care about my opinion on her outfits?
Jax stood up quickly, his mind racing with conflicting thoughts. He rubbed his face, trying to gather his thoughts before responding to the message from Zooble. What did she expect him to say? No? It wasn't his place to dictate what someone else should wear. But at the same time, he couldn't shake the feeling of discomfort at the thought of Pomni wearing something revealing.
"Obviously I don't care-Wait..." Jax typed out his response slowly, unsure of his own feelings. "If she does wear that, she's been kinda exposed, and only because I don't want her to be looked at like a dirty girl... No, I don't like it, that's what I feel. But if she feels differently, then I'll respect her decision." With a sigh, he hit send and waited for a response.
As he waited, Jax couldn't help but reflect on his own emotions. Seeing Pomni in revealing clothing stirred up conflicting feelings within him. On one hand, he wanted to protect her from any unwanted attention or judgment. But on the other hand, he couldn't deny that she don't look bad.
"I don't know how I would feel seeing her wearing that..." Jax muttered to himself, shaking his head. "Nevermind, even someone as small as her has a body that a man wouldn't mind having. Tch, I need something t- Bzzt!" His thoughts were interrupted by another message from Zooble, this time in the form of a photo.
Standing in the dressing room, Pomni felt a mix of relief and worry as she slowly took off her business suit. She let out a sigh, hoping that her roommate Jax wouldn't see the picture she had sent earlier. It wasnt meant to be seen by him, a way to mix things up a bit in their mundane work environment. But now, as she stood in front of the mirror, she couldn't help but second-guess her decision.
Looking at her reflection in the full-body mirror, Pomni couldn't help but notice her own insecurities. She felt a pang of disappointment as she stared at her thighs, wishing they were slimmer. "Why do my thighs have to be so big?" she thought to herself. "I would prefer to be taller..." The thought crossed her mind that perhaps her appearance was the reason for Jax's lack of interest in her.
