Chp 15: DeJa Vu

A week had flown by, and Pomni found herself sitting in the living room with Jaxxy napping on the couch. It had been a lazy Sunday afternoon, with nothing much going on. Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door, breaking the peaceful silence of the house. Pomni got up from her seat and made her way to the door, wondering who could be visiting at this hour.

As she opened the door, she was surprised to see a young girl standing on the doorstep. "Hello. Can I help you?" Pomni asked, slightly confused by the unexpected visitor.

"S-sorry, I think I came to the wrong place," the young lady stammered, looking a bit lost.

"Who are you looking for?" Pomni inquired, always being a friendly hostess.

"Well, do you know where Jax is?" the young girl asked, her eyes scanning the room behind Pomni 

"Jax? He's in the b-huh... Wait a minute... Have I seen you be-Hey Pomni!" Jax's voice interrupted, as he emerged from the bathroom wearing only a towel around his waist.

"We need to talk abou- huh?" Jax stopped mid-sentence, his expression turning from confusion to recognition as he saw the young lady at the door. 

The young lady gasped in surprise, her eyes widening in excitement. "Hi, Jax!"

Jax raised an eyebrow, looking a bit puzzled. "Hey kid, Pomni! If you're gonna invite strangers over..."

The young lady's face lit up with joy as she stepped inside the house. "I can't believe it! I finally see it after all these years!" 

Pomni and Jax exchanged confused glances before the young lady continued. "Oh, I see, guess nobody mentioned me to you. Well, let's have a proper greeting! My name is Jackie! I'm your baby sister!"

Both Pomni and Jax's eyes widened in shock at the unexpected revelation. "WHAT?!?" they both exclaimed in unison.

As Jackie settled in and began to recount stories from their childhood, Jax listened in awe, realizing that they had a whole new family member they never knew about. It was a surreal moment, filled with emotions ranging from confusion to happiness.

The three of them sat in the living room, a sense of surprise and confusion hanging in the air. Jax, properly dressed and seemingly composed, stared at his sister Jackie in disbelief. She had just revealed some shocking information about their late mother's will, leaving her house and possessions to him. Jax couldn't quite process the news, feeling a mix of emotions at that moment.

"So... You're my little sister... That's a red flag," Jax remarked, his mind racing with questions and uncertainties.

"Jax James Kovach! You're 22 years old! You're living with your girlfriend in an apartment with your coworkers, living under the thumb of your employer, Caine Rochon," Jackie continued, dropping bombshell after bombshell.

Hold on a minute! Jax thought, struggling to make sense of the situation. How did Jackie know all of this intimate personal information about his life? And more importantly, why was she suddenly appearing out of nowhere with news of their mother's will?

As Jackie explained that their mother had left the house to him, Jax felt a wave of emotions wash over him. It was a mix of disbelief, gratitude, and a tinge of sadness for the loss of his mother. The thought of having his place, a place that was his birthright, filled him with a sense of responsibility and purpose.

"Birthrights?" Jax repeated, his voice barely above a whisper as he tried to wrap his head around the concept.

Jackie's sudden appearance and the news of the inheritance left Jax feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. It was a lot to take in, and he needed time to process it all.
