Jax looked at Pomni from the other side of the door as she stared out the window. She had a vacant look in her eyes, a result of the concussion she had suffered in the car accident. Jax couldn't believe how quickly everything had changed. One minute they were driving down the road, laughing and joking, and the next minute their world had been turned upside down.

"Is there anything we can do to make her remember who she is sooner?" Jax asked the doctor, desperate for any shred of hope.

The doctor shook his head, "There isn't much we can do for her. She seems perfectly fine, with no major brain damage. If anything, she just needs to rest for a couple of weeks until her body and mind is at 100%."

Jax dropped his head, trying to keep his composure. He couldn't bear to see Pomni like this, lost and confused. She was always the strong one, the one who held them all together... To a certain extent. Now she was the one who needed help.

"I know you're upset, but-" the doctor started to say, but Jax cut him off.

"It's fine," Jax declared, his voice filled with determination. "I know Pomni, just like the back of my hand. All I need to do is jog her memories back. It's that simple!"

The doctor looked at Jax skeptically, "You can't just do something that she knows or did back then. If that were the case, she would remember you, considering how important she is to you."

Jax remained silent, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew he had to do something, anything to help Pomni remember who she was. It was like a piece of his heart was missing, and he would do anything to put it back together.

"And I forgot to mention," the doctor added, "you may need to give her that hoodie of yours."

"Huh? Why?" Jax asked, confused.

"She was losing a lot of blood, most of it got onto her clothing, and now the only thing she has on is the hospital gown," the doctor explained.

What?!" Jax said, looking at the doctor in shock. "You mean she's-" "No! No! She still has her clothing underneath the gown," the doctor interrupted Jax to reassured him.

"Good," Jax sighed, feeling grateful that Pomni was okay. He knew he had to do everything in his power to help her remember who she was.

17 Minutes Later

Jax opened the door to the apartment, letting Pomni go in first, revealing her wearing his massive purple hood. "So this is where we live, huh? It's such a nice and clean place," she said as she looked around.

"Yeah, while you were... down and out, I decided to hold down the fort," Jax replied.

"Thank you for that, and taking me home, and well... everything really, I really do appreciate it," Pomni said happily. Jax grew an unpleasant look on his face.

"Huh? Is something wrong?" Pomni asked.

"S-sorry... It's just... I'm not used to hearing you talk so confidently," Jax admitted, scratching his head.

"You're not? How did she talk?" Pomni inquired.

"She would talk so timidly, not to mention she was paranoid and didn't really have much of a backbone," Jax replied playfully.

"That's... unfortunate... but are you okay?" Pomni asked.

"Huh? Of course I am, I'm just happy you're back," Jax reassured.

"I don't want to call you a liar, but I don't believe you. Since we left the hospital, I noticed that your body looks like it's struggling to hold itself together. The dark bags under your eyes prove to me that you haven't been sleeping for a long period of time. When was the last time you went to sleep?" Pomni questioned.

"Meh, like 6 days ago, but I'm still working fine," Jax replied nonchalantly.

"What!? Where's the bedroom?" Pomni demanded.

"Huh? Oh, it's just next to the living room," Jax answered, but before he could finish, Pomni grabbed his hand and led him to the bedroom.

"There! Now go to bed and get some rest!" Pomni ordered.

"Excuse me? Who do you—I'm not asking you! You're in no condition to refuse the rest you need! You've been watching over me for 6 days! I don't want to hear anything else come past your mouth! Bed! Now!" Pomni insisted.

Jax, shocked by Pomni's sudden assertiveness, complied and got into bed. "Now go to sleep, you had a long day but now you need to rest. Sweet dreams," Pomni said, closing the door as she left the room.

As Jax lay in bed, he couldn't shake off the feeling of being taken care of, instead of being the one taking care of others. "This is a whole new feeling that feels so off," he thought to himself.

But his thoughts were interrupted when he opened his eyes to see Pomni lying above him. "Pomni!? Why are you over me for!?" he exclaimed.

"I'm sorry! Are you okay?" she asked, concerned.

Jax quickly realized that the situation was getting out of hand as they found themselves inches away from each other. "What the- POMNI!" Jax yelled, trying to maintain some distance.

After a tense moment, Jax saved Pomni from a falling vase, leading to a close and intimate moment between them. As they both leaned in, their faces mere inches apart, they shared a moment of vulnerability and closeness.

Jax placed the vase down and gently touched Pomni's face, while she reciprocated the gesture. They leaned in closer, their breaths mingling as they closed their eyes, lost in the moment.

In a short moment's notice, Jax quickly leaned up, breathing rapidly. Confusion and adrenaline coursed through his veins as he tried to make sense of the dream he had just experienced. He turned to his side and saw Pomni lying next to him, her hand resting gently on his stomach.

"What... What the hell was that all about!?" Jax exclaimed, his mind racing to comprehend the significance of the dream. It dawned on him that perhaps the dream was a result of his growing feelings for Pomni, developed over the time they had spent together.

As he reached out to push her hair away from her face, a realization struck him. "I see... I only got that dream because of being around her for a long time. I guess I truly care about her," Jax thought to himself. Despite being in a committed relationship with Ragatha, he couldn't deny the tender affection he felt towards Pomni in that moment.

He chuckled at the irony of the situation, acknowledging that only people who are dangerously close to each other would experience such intimate dreams. "Heh, like I would do something like that. I'm with Dollface and Pomni isn't like that. She knows our friendship is fully platonic," Jax mused.
