Biloxi and Sheffield sat down with their prisoner. It had actually been rather unexpected to encounter a Kansen other than the ones they had been pursuing, but after a moment's thought, they decided it wasn't too out of the ordinary. After all, their captive was someone who had also been wronged by a naval treaty. The two of them spotted her poking around, and they both noticed her rigging was bristling with a variety of heavy and medium guns- She seemed to be the same vintage and type of ship as Mikasa. So, the two of them shadowed her and eventually caught her in a confined waterway where she wouldn't be able to avoid Sheffield's torpedoes.
She had her blonde hair up in a prim bun, and her blue eyes were rather severe, as though she was always making sure that other people were the sort who were supposed to be in her presence at any given time, and for someone who was out patrolling the coast, she was not short on fancy dress. Her white parasol was stuck in the ground beside her, And that her blue dress was reflective of Edwardian fashion showed she did mean to be on top of what was fashionable in Europe over a hundred years ago. Even though she was a Union ship, she at least wished to appear worldly.
Connecticut struggled against the anchor chains that she was tied up with."You know, the both of you could unhand me at any time. I have things to do in my schedule which have nothing to do with being captured and tied up by a couple of maritime vagrants. So, if it would please you to do so, send me on my way."
Biloxi stretched. "You're not exactly in a position to be making demands right now."
"I am always in the position to make demands, especially when I am being treated so roughly by a pair of aquatic hoodlums. You two must come from some awful lineage- no doubt you have a torpedo boat or collier of some sort in your family tree."
Biloxi sat down in front of their prisoner. "You know, you seem pretty calm about this."
Connecticut shrugged. "Though I am in a bit of a fix, I can at least console myself with the fact that it was one of my countrymen and a Royal that got the better of me. I would be more liable to die inside if I had been caught by one of those drunken Northerners or lustful Sardegnans, or some other people of a similar loutish and uncouth nature. Now, who were you again, I don't believe I've heard of you."
Biloxi pointed to herself. "I'm Biloxi, and this one is Sheffield. Sorry if we were rather rough, but we're on a delicate mission and can't take chances."
Sheffield remained entirely quiet, trying to take the measure of this new Kansen. Though the accent was different, Connecticut spoke with the intonation and inflection of the sort of person who was used to having people do things done for her.
The maid was well aware of the type.
The Union light cruiser then continued asking questions. "So, what are you even doing out here? We were chasing some leads."
Connecticut shook her head. "Just acting as a bit of a privateer for certain Eastern persons. With the Sirens being a bother to everyone, there's plenty of work for those with a sense of adventure, when it comes to dealing with other problems. Pirates, smugglers, and the like. There's plenty to do for those of us who want to make a maritime living but would prefer not to get entangled in major affairs. There were certain Kansen that were seen as being not entirely satisfactory for the struggle at hand, and were allowed to take on other duties."
Sheffield looked at Biloxi. "...She's not who we're looking for."
"I agree." She then went over, and untied Connecticut. The old battleship sat neat and prim, as though she was receiving a guest rather than being under guard- she was entirely confident she'd be released once people knew who she was, it seemed.
