I used to stagger about
My mind and heart echoing a sound
A word at first I couldn't discern
'Till later I meditated on your Word

Men always let you down
And yet I questioned, "Why?"
But the reality is that people are not perfect [a]
Selfishness is something that in each heart resides

It makes me wonder about the love of Christ
To lay down His life as a sacrifice
It says, "There is no greater love." [b]

I compare God's love to that of my family and friends
And my heart shudders, trembles, and quakes

I ponder the humiliating rejection of the Cross
That people created by Jesus could see him face-to-face and deem him a disgrace [c]

30 shekels of silver is what they would pay for the death of a slave  [d]
30 shekels of silver for my Lord? [e]
What a serious shame to those not able to see the hidden treasure before them [f]
