A Moment of Calm At Last

No demons to plague my soul
No fears taking hold
A calm serenity flows in me
A moment of silent peace

Arms comforting in their hold
A solid warmth absent of any cold
And tears begin to fall
Like flames licking down my face

A soothing balm for the pain
A stitching, mending, making whole again
In your embrace, I remain
Good God and Shepherd of my soul [a]

a. 1 Peter 2:25 For "you were like sheep going astray," but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. (NIV)
