Mary- what is it

Fatima- did you go see dad the other day

Mary- what

Fatima- I'm 21 mom , I'm not a baby so just tell me the truth

Mary- yes , I did

Fatima- wow, after all that he has done to you and this family.

Mary- it wasn't like that baby, and how do you know that I went to see him

Fatima- I got a call from grandma Jacky out of nowhere , I was confused mom because she hasn't talked to me since she said I tried to put her sons in jail 6 years ago , But I answered anyway and she asked me to come over and talk

Mary- you better not had of went over there Fatima I'm not playing

Fatima- I didn't mom , I told her No and she said that she didn't know why I was still acting this way

Mary- that bitch

Fatima- she said that she didn't know why I was still holding on to the situation and that you moved on from it because you were over there.

Mary- baby- ( as Fatima cut her off)

Fatima- I asked her what she meant and she said that you were over there talking with him and that you had been there for a while

Mary- I did go and see him but it wasn't like that. I went to get closure baby. I went to forgive him. I needed to forgive him for all the hurt and pain that he caused. I forgave him not because he deserved it but because I deserve to move on from him and the situation.

Fatima- awww mommy ( she said wiping her mothers tears)

Mary- i deserve not to live in fear, I needed to show him that he did not break me and that he didn't win. I deserve happiness. So I went to forgive him for myself and I really hope that one day you will do the same because you need it.

Fatima- I'm fine mommy, I don't need shit from him

Mary- you're hurt Tima, you bury yourself in school, you've never been in a relationship with a man because you're scared , you don't go out. You blame yourself for everything, you even blamed yourself for the things that HE did. You try to please and make everyone happy even if that means hurting yourself.

Fatima- I get it mom, you don't have to read me

Mary- I'm not trying to , it took me a while to get to this point and move on from that trauma, I just want the same for you

Fatima- I have to get back to work mom , I promise I'll come by and see you tomorrow

Mary- I know you're trying to get rid of me but fine I'll go. I'll see you tomorrow ( she said getting up hugging Fatima and leaving)

after she left out of the room Fatima begin to cry, Fatima knew that what her mom said about her was true and that it's true that she's hurt and holding on to that pain.
