The sun beat down on the packed stadium in Saint-Denis, France, as Shri sat in the stands, her eyes fixed on the pitch. Today was the day of the big match against Australia, Shri's heart was racing with excitement as she watched Rohit bhaiya and yashasvi take position at the crease.
As the match began, Yashasvi and Rohit were playing well, but Yashasvi got out for a well-made 40. Shri felt a pang of worry, but she knew Riyan was a strong player who could help turn the game around.
However, things took a turn for the worse when Virat bhaiya got out for a low score. The Indian team was in trouble, and Shri's anxiety grew as she watched the scoreboard tick away. But Riyan was still waiting in the wings, his helmet and pads at the ready.
Finally, it was his turn to take the field. He walked out to the crease with a determined look on his face, his eyes fixed on the Australian bowler starc. Shri held her breath as he faced his first delivery, his bat swinging smoothly through the air but the ball was a bouncer which hit him right on the helmet, Shri got worried for a bit but Riyan stood his ground.
The tension was palpable as Riyan dug deep, playing each ball carefully and taking calculated risks. The crowd was on its feet, cheering him on as he took 20 runs off the next over. Shri was screaming , her voice lost in the crowd.
As the game entered its final stages, India's situation looked precarious. They needed 60 runs to win, but with only two wickets remaining. The crowd was on its edge, but Riyan remained calm and focused. He played each ball like his life depended on it, taking 15 runs off the next over to bring India within reach of victory.
In a thrilling finish, Riyan took 10 runs off the last over to bring victory home by just two wickets .The stadium erupted in a frenzy of cheers and applause as Riyad raised his bat in triumph. Shri leapt to her feet, tears of joy streaming down her face. She screamed his name at the top of her lungs as she hugged the stranger next to her, overcome with emotion.
As Riyan scored the winning run, he looked up at the stands and locked eyes with Shri. The crowd around them was erupting in cheers and applause, but Riyan didn't notice. He was lost in the moment, his heart pounding with excitement and relief, his mind wandering back to the thing he has been planning out for months, today was finally the day ,so he needed to win today, for her.
As he made his way back to the dressing room, Shri rushed down to the field, where Riyan was mobbed by his teammates. She threw her arms around him, holding him close as he smiled from ear to ear.
Shri: I'm so proud of you
she whispered into his ear, her voice trembling with emotion.
Riyan smiled back at her, his eyes shining with pride and happiness.
