A tale of love ,
A tale of healing ,
A tale of trust ,
A tale of discoveries ,

But you can't lose something that never was yours

A steady, rhythmic beep sliced through the silence.
Faint at first. Distant. Like a whisper in the void.
Then louder. Closer. Insistent.
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
The sound dragged her upwards, pulling her from the depths of an endless dark. Her body felt heavy, like she was sinking into the mattress, her limbs weighed down by something invisible. Everything was hazy, unfocused, wrapped in a fog that refused to clear.
A soft hiss—oxygen flowing through tubes. The faint hum of machinery. The sterile scent of antiseptic.
Where am I?
Her eyelids fluttered. The light was too bright, searing against her retinas. She winced, her breath hitching as she slowly forced them open. Shapes blurred and shifted, morphing into shadows before settling into something recognizable. White walls. A ceiling lined with fluorescent lights. The IV drip beside her, the wires snaking across her skin.
Confusion clawed at her throat.
And then—
"Doctor! Doctor! she woke up!"
A flurry of movement. Footsteps. Voices rising.
She tried to turn her head, but even that felt exhausting. Her throat was dry, her lips cracked. A nurse leaned over her, murmuring something reassuring as a doctor rushed in, shining a light into her eyes, asking her questions she could barely process.
And then—
"Shri?"
Her gaze shifted, her chest tightening. The voice was familiar. Warm. Desperate.
A boy stood at the doorway. Wide eyes, disheveled hair, the kind of face she had known forever.
Her brother.
"Shri, are you okay?"
She blinked. Her mouth opened, but no words came. Her brain felt sluggish, like it was trying to put together a puzzle with missing pieces.
Something was wrong. Something was missing.
And then it hit her.
"Where is he?" she croaked.
Her brother frowned. "What? Kon?"
"Where is Ri?" she tried again, her voice rasping. "Riyan—my fiancé—kaha hai vo?"
Silence.
A cold, heavy silence that pressed down on the room.
Her brother’s face twisted, a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes. "Shri… what are you talking about?"
