A tale of love ,
A tale of healing ,
A tale of trust ,
A tale of discoveries ,
Nothing changed, yet she felt the loss,
But you can't lose something that never was yours

Assam
It had been weeks.
Weeks of silence. Weeks of waking up in his old room at his parents' house, staring at the ceiling with hollow eyes. Weeks of existing, but not really living.
Riyan hadn't stepped foot in Mumbai since... since that night. Since his entire world had come crashing down in the form of shattered glass and twisted metal. Since Shri...
He couldn't even think about it.
He had locked himself away in his childhood home in Assam, letting his parents fuss over him, letting the walls of his old room shield him from the outside world. It was easier this way-easier to pretend that life had stopped, that time wasn't still moving forward without her.
But reality had a way of creeping in, no matter how much he tried to run.
That morning, as he sat on the balcony, staring blankly at the trees swaying in the wind, his phone buzzed.
Dhruv calling...
Riyan let it ring. He wasn't in the mood to talk. But Dhruv being Dhruv, didn't give up. The phone rang again. And again.
With a heavy sigh, he picked up.
"Haan?"
His voice was rough, hollow.
Dhruv exhaled sharply.
"Tu kab tak bhaagega, Riyan?"
Riyan closed his eyes, resting his head against the back of the chair. He was so tired of this question.
"Main kahin nahi bhaag raha."
"Jhooth mat bol," Dhruv snapped.
"Tu waha Assam me apne ghar baitha hai ... Par Riyan... kab tak?"
Silence.
Dhruv's voice softened.
"Tu wapas Mumbai aa ja. Yeh sab tere liye aasan nahi hai, main jaanta hoon. Par tu jitna bhi apne aapko chhupa le, Shri ki yaadein tujhse kahin nahi jaane wali."
At the sound of her name, Riyan's throat tightened. Riyan gritted his teeth, his fingers tightening around the phone.
"Bhai...Shri ke bina wo ghar... ghar nahi hai," his voice barely above a whisper.
Dhruv sighed.
"Par tu usse chod nahi sakta, Riyan. Wo ghar sirf deewarein nahi hai. Wo tum dono ka tha. Tum dono ka hai."
More silence.
"Main tujhe lene aaun?" Dhruv asked after a moment.
Riyan inhaled shakily. He wanted to say no. He wanted to keep hiding. But deep down, he knew Dhruv was right.
