The next morning, they found themselves on a plane bound for Dehradun.
Riyan and Shri had collectively decided to ask for permission from Shri's parents first and then go to riyan's right after, deep down both of them already knew their parents' answers
As they settled into their seats, Riyan reached for Shri's hand, feeling grateful for this new chapter in their lives.
After a smooth flight, Riyan and Shri finally arrived in Dehradun.
They grabbed their bags and exited the arrivals terminal, a mix of anxiety and excitement filling the air.
As they rode to Shri's house, Riyan's grip on Shri's hand tightened, the enormity of the situation slowly sinking in.
Shri: nervous ho?
Riyan: haan , I guess
Shri: don't worry ri, they love you , kabhi kabhi to mujhe lagta hai ki mujhse b zada pasand ho tum unhe
Riyan chuckles
Riyan: ab meri itni b tarif Mt kro
He said while rubbing his head like shinchan
Shri smiled, her heart warming at Riyan's lighthearted remark. It was moments like these that brought them comfort in the face of the impending conversation.
They continued the drive, the landscape changing as they left the city behind. Soon, they arrived at Shri's childhood home nestled among tall trees, its familiarity offering a sense of comfort.
Shri grabbed riyan's hand and gave it a squeeze
Riyan looked at Shri, her reassuring smile melting away some of his nervousness. He squeezed her hand back, his heart pounding in his chest as they approached the front door.
As the front door opened , shri's mother rushed towards them , engulfing them itno a group hug
Sudha: beta flight kesi thi , thak gye hoge na , aao andr aa jao Mai kuch khane ko lati hu
Everyone entered the house
Laxman: riyan beta kese ho ?
Shri: acha papa or Shri beta ka kya?
Everyone chuckled
A sense of warmth filled the room as Shri's family welcomed them with open arms. Riyan smiled at Shri's playful banter with her father. The smell of home-cooked food floated in from the kitchen, further heightening the feeling of comfort.
As they sat down at the dining table, Riyan couldn't help but glance at Shri, their eyes meeting in a silent reassurance.
After the meal was finished, all of them sat togather
Shri: um muma papa hume aapko kuch btana tha
Sudha: haan beta bolo na
The room fell silent as Riyan and Shri looked at each other, unsure where to start.
