A tale of love ,
A tale of healing ,
A tale of trust ,
A tale of discoveries ,
Nothing changed, yet she felt the loss,
But you can't lose something that never was yours

A Year Later 2025
The hum of the airplane engines was familiar now. A constant companion. A sound that filled the silence and kept her from thinking too much.
Shri leaned back against the seat, her fingers resting lightly on the armrest as she stared out of the small, oval window. Clouds stretched endlessly beneath them, bathed in the soft glow of the morning sun.
Paris.
She hadn't planned it. Hadn't sat down and mapped out this trip with any real thought. It had been an impulse-a last-minute booking, a desperate need to escape the monotony of work, of deadlines, of the carefully structured life she had built over the past year.
A life where she didn't have to think about him.
Because when she worked-when she buried herself in projects, meetings, and flights that kept her moving from city to city-she didn't have the time to feel.
But now, with nothing but open sky and hours of solitude ahead of her, the memories crept in.
Faint. Blurred at the edges. But still there.
The Eiffel Tower at night. The golden lights shimmering like stars. The cool wind tangling through her hair as she stood on the cobblestone path, laughter spilling from her lips.
And him.
Riyan.
His hand warm in hers. The way he looked at her, like she was something out of a dream. The nervous energy radiating from him, the small, breathless chuckle before he dropped down on one knee.
"Shri , you are everything that I not only wanted but most importantly needed, I can't even imagine what my life was like before I met you , tumse milne se phle mujhe nhi pta tha ki pyar kesa feel hota hai but now I know , I feel like I am the luckiest guy in the world to have found you , to have made you mine , Shri tumhare tareef karne k lia shabd Kam hai lekin fir bhi Mai kuch nhi bol pa rha , I just know that you are the person I want to spend rest of my life with , to start a family with , to hold close forever, Shri Rawat, mujhe zada gadhwali to nhi aati but , Kyaa tu myaar dagad byoh karali? (Will you marry me?)"
She could still hear his voice, the slight tremor in it, the raw, unfiltered love in his eyes.
She could still feel the way her heart had raced, the way the world had tilted around her
A perfect moment. A memory carved into her soul.
And yet...
It wasn't real. Not anymore.
Her fingers curled into her palm, pressing against the finger where a ring had once rested. It had been a year since she had seen him. A year since that night in Harare when he had looked right through her.
