33. Team dinner

Inaya's POV

I feel so sleepy right now. I've spent last whole night thinking on how to make up for my stupidity that i didn't slept properly.

I was forcing myself to keep my eyes open while working.

Another yawn came just then lily asked, "didn't you get any sleep?"

I shook my head negatively fighting the urge to just close my eyes for a while.

"Is there someone named inaya here?" suddenly a man who looked like the delivery guy entered holding a drink in his hands.

"Yeah me" i raised my hand in confusion.

This is for you," he said forwarding the drink he was holding.

I frowned, "but i didn't order it."

"Someone else did for you" with that he left leaving me more confused than before.

But all my confusion got cleared when i saw a note along with the cup.

It read,

"Hope this makes you feel better, and get proper sleep from next time sweetheart.."

I felt my cheeks turn red and heart filled with warmth as i read the note.
"Ooooo who is it from?" lily smirked.

I cleared my throat before hiding the note before she could read it.

"No one," i placed the note inside my drawer making sure not to tear it.

"Oh come one," she whinned before going back to her work.

I tried my best to hide my smile and blush as i took a sip of the coffee.

This man, i'm falling again and again for him!

I felt alot energised then before after drinking the coffee. All thanks to him.

Thinking of him, i looked around to see if he'd pass by or something.

I haven't seen him after last night and i was missing him.

"Hey let's go we have a meeting" lily tapped my shoulder and i quickly picked up my things before leaving with her.

We reached in time and settled on our seats.

There was still some time left before the meeting started.

I was taking a final look at the files i prepared when lily nudged my elbow.

"What?" i asked without looking up.

"Look look that's our boss with his rumoured girlfriend" her words made me look up instantly.

I looked outside from the transparent door and saw rayan with some other girl standing too close to him.

"People here say that they've been secretly dating for a while now" lily's words were like fuel to a fire.

"They are just.. rumours we shouldn't believe rubbish" i scoffed unintentionally.

"Judging by the way they look so comfortable with each other, i don't think they're just rumours" i felt my grip tightened on the file as i felt a surge of emotions.

The meeting started soon and no matter how much i tried to divert my attention, i couldn't stop thinking about what lily said.

"Hey you go for lunch, i don't feel like eating," i told lily before going back towards my desk.

Placing the files on the desk, i plopped on my chair and closed my eyes.
