I finally reach the door of Malfoy Manor, my heart beating faster and faster as I bring my fingers to ring the doorbell.

Feeling nervous coming back here is strange. I wanted nothing more than to escape this place for months, and here I am back willingly—the place that caused me so much pain. Yet somehow, it feels like home. I couldn't explain it, but it brings a great deal of comfort being here. Not only because my Slytherin prince is waiting for me on the other side but because I spent hours every day taking care of this home, making it a home. Even when there was no hope, I could still picture my life here with Draco, us raising a family here, keeping each other safe behind these walls.

My thoughts are suddenly interrupted as the door slowly creaks open, making my heart sink to my stomach.

"KIT!" I scream, bending down to him immediately.

"Miss Margot!?" he says as he hugs me.

"I'm back," I say gently.

"Who is it?" A familiar voice calls out, revealing Narcissa as she comes into view.

"Margot...." she says, running to me at once.

I run to her, meeting her halfway as I hold her hands.

"You're alive... I am so relieved," she says gently before caressing my cheek.

"It's over, Narcissa... it's finally over," I say to her.

"We heard," she says with a proud smile.

"How is he..." I ask gently.

"He is doing much better, but he's still weak and in a lot of pain... he refuses to speak to me or even allow me to be around him," she says bitterly.

"He can't stay mad at you forever," I say, comforting her.

"Of course he can" she says dryly.

"I didn't..." I say gently.

"Yes, well, unfortunately, my son lacks your forgiving nature," she replies.

"He loves you... you know that," I say, holding her hand tightly.

"Go to him. I am sure he is waiting eagerly for you," she says, letting go.

I make my way to the stairs, once again feeling nervous, passing all the familiar doors and rooms I would clean and wander around.

I finally approach his door and take a deep breath before slowly turning the knob and pushing it open.

"Draco," I say softly as I walk inside and see him sleeping soundly in his bed. A smile comes to my face seeing him safe and content in a deep sleep.

I take a seat next to him on the bed, watching his face carefully, admiring each feature on his face that I could study for years.

I bring my fingers up to gently brush his cheek when suddenly his eyes gently pop open and meet mine.

"Sorry I didn't mean to wake you..." I begin when he pushes himself up immediately, pulling me into his arms. He cups my head firmly in his hand as he brings his lips to my head, desperately planting a kiss.

"You are going to suffocate me," I chuckle, pulling away slightly. His grip moves down to my arms but still holds on tightly.

"You are alive... you are here... and you are alive," he says as his eyes scan every inch of me.

"I promised I would be," I say, crashing my lips into his. He kisses me back with hunger and desperation, our lips and tongues getting completely tangled with each other. I couldn't even wait 5 seconds; I needed him.
