—real life—

Atlas decided to take a trip to New York to visit some on her friends. After her album release and the break up, she wanted to get out of the city.

So she booked a flight and packed a few of her bags and flew out to the city. After arriving, her friend, Jess picked her up and they went to Atlas's apartment.

She really came to the city but bought it for when she'd be in the city for work. She only was there for work, rarely to visit or vacation.

They got to her apartment and went inside. She sat her stuff down on her bed and walked back into the kitchen. "Thanks for picking me up, Jess." She said and the girl smiled at her. "You're welcome. What brings you here. Work?"

She sighed. "Uh, I just wanted out of LA. I originally wanted to go back to London but I had a few mates I wanted to see." She said, smiling at her. "I'm hosting a dinner tonight with a few people and that includes you, if you're free."

Jess nodded her head. "I'm free. What time do you want me to come back?" She asked. She looked at her phone. "7." She said. They talked for a few more minutes and she left shortly after.

She walked into her room and changed into a pair of black jeans and a white long sleeve. She grabbed her purse and keys and left her apartment and started walked to the store.

As Atlas walked down the street, people stared at her and whispered to each other. She ignored it and went into the store. She grabbed the food that she needed and walked back to her place.

Paparazzi found her and took pictures of her as she was walking. She could already see what they would say and her fans would say. She got back into her apartment and put the food away.

She took a shower and changed into different clothes and she walked back into her kitchen. She put on music and started cooking. After two hours her guests finally arrived. Just a few of her close friends. The rest of the night they spent drinking, eating and talking.

The next day Atlas woke up and got ready to met up with her friend for breakfast. She changed into black dress pants and a light blue cropped crewneck and put on black boots.

She grabbed her purse and left the apartment complex. She walked for ten minutes before arriving at one of the shops. She walked in and saw her friend. "Hey." She said walking up to him.

He looked up from his phone and smiled at her. "Hey Las." He said, pulling her into a hug. "Sorry for the short notice. I didn't even know I was coming to the city." She said.

He pulled away. "It's alright." Austin said.

They sat down at the table. The waitress came over to their table and took their order. She got them their drinks and left them. "How have you been?" He asked, taking a sip of his coffee. She crossed her legs and tapped her fingers on her leg, anxiously. "Not the best."

"Why's that?" He asked and she looked up at him. "Charlie broke up with me." His face dropped. "I'm sorry, Las." He said and she shrugged her shoulder. "It's fine. We have different projects coming up."

Atlas looked over to see the waitress coming with their food and she cleared her throat and moved her purse over. "Here you are. Enjoy." She said setting the plates down. Austin looked at her. "Thank you." She looked at him and smiled before she walked back to the counter.

"Are you okay?" He asked her and she nodded her head. "I mean it's been a month. And I had my time to be sad about it. Then I wrote my album and released. Now that's all I can think about." She said and he nodded his head, understanding what she was saying. "It is a good album." He said.

She smiled at him. "You listened to it?" She asked and he laughed. "Of course I did. Why is that so surprising?" He asked her and she shrugged her shoulders. "Because you would have been on Instagram to see it. I only announced it a few days before I dropped it."

He smiled at her. "Yeah, I saw your announcement on your story." Austin said and she shook her head. "You were on instagram?" She asked him and he nodded his head. "I've been going on there more lately."

Atlas sat back in her seat. "That's a twist. Austin on his phone, let only instagram." She said. "You were the one who told me to get on social media more often."

"I didn't think you actually would listen." She said and he looked down at his plate. "Well, I did and I only follow up with a few people on there." She nodded her head. "How many?"

"Only one." He said looking up at her and she smiled at him. The two ate their food and they made plans to hang out with each other at her place tomorrow.

Authors note:

Of course it's Austin.

Since I wrote the Dune 2
press tour, I thought about
them. And I'm surprised none
of y'all saw my hint of him still
having feelings for her in the
chapter: Truth.

I just noticed now much Atlas
(Blanca Soler) looks like Kaia
Gerber when I was looking for
pictures to use for this fic.

Kaia is literally 3 years older than me.
What the fuck am I doing wrong in life?
Writing fics about famous people
and fictional characters. 😭

Hope y'all enjoyed.
