Back in Vancouver, Atlas got a call from one of her friends, asking if she wanted to preform with them but she had to decline to scheduling conflicts. She really wanted to because she love the band, but she had to do her job.
She woke up when her phone rang. Dan called her, asking if she could come in. So she quickly changed and made herself a coffee and jumped into her car and left for set. Atlas arrived a half hour later and went inside.
She walked into the room and they sat down for three hours with the scripts, sides, and drawings. He had her pitch ideas and they wrote it down. They took a hour break and she left the room. Atlas walked around the set and went in the training room. She looked around to see no one was there.
She turned around to walk out but someone was standing there and she flinched. "We need to put a bell on you." She said and he laughed. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I didn't think anyone was in here." Daniel said and she smiled, raising her eyebrows. "Guess we had the same idea."
"What were you doing in here?" He asked her and she shrugged her shoulders. "I was just walking around. I have an hour until my next meeting." She told him and he nodded his head. "Do you want to walk with me to the pool? Unless you're busy." He asked her.
"I'm not." Atlas said and the two of them walked to the pool, talking and getting to know each other better. "Again, sorry I made you jump." He said and she looked at him. "It's fine. I tend to do that a lot." She said and he looked at her. "Cause of the kids, always running around?"
She shook her head. "No." She sadly said and he knew what she meant. "I'm sorry." She shrugged her shoulders. "You don't need to say that. It was a few years ago." Altas told him. "Ex boyfriend? Sorry, you don't have to answer. It's none of my business."
She looked at him. "I was young and couldn't see the signs. He was charming and made me feel alive. He was the first person I put my trust in. The first person to show interest and love me. He never really touched me, it was all arguing and yelling and shit like that but I still love him and care for him. I know it's stupid." He shook his head. "It's not." Atlas and Daniel didn't realize that one other person was listening to their conversation.
Charlie.
He was mad that she didn't tell him, that he didn't trust her with that information. But it broke his heart, now knowing that she went through that. He wanted nothing more than to walk up to her and demand the name of the person who hurt her.
Charlie wouldn't necessarily do anything himself, like find them and hurt them. He just wanted to protect her, in any way he could. She was still his friend and would do anything for her.
Atlas and Daniel finished their conversation and he went into the pool area. She turned around and stopped breathing when she saw who was standing there. There was Charlie, staring straight at her. "Did you hear that?" She asked him and he nodded his head once, keeping his body still, his hands bundled into fists, and his nails digging into his skin.
"I'm sorry you had to find out that way. I just didn't want to talk about it." She said and he didn't move, like he was afraid if he moved a muscle he would scare her. And he did not want to do that. "You don't have to tell me anything, Atley. I understand why you didn't want to." Charlie said in a calm voice.
