It has been about two months of training, running away, and joining the League of Villains. He has been learning hand-to-hand combat and how to use a weapon from Toga. She has been a lot of help to Izuku and very understanding. Toga helps adjust to his new lifestyle and adapt to his new living space. It is a whole different story than Dabi.
Ever since Izuku joined, he has been bitter to him. He would ignore, avoid, and be bombastic towards Izuku. Izuku made attempts to get to know Dabi, but he just won't break. One night, he heard Dabi and Shigaraki going at it over something he couldn't quite understand. What he did understand is they were arguing about revenge.
It's like Shigaraki, but way more social. He would talk to Izuku every chance he got and always had a glass of alcohol in his hand. Shigaraki would talk to him how to be the best, not to worry about others, and how everything has to be perfect. Izuku was getting bored of it and slowly drifted away from him. He had no idea and questions why he always says, "everything has to be perfect." He thought about asking Toga, but it never came up.
Unlike Shigaraki, who talks and drinks 24/7, Kurogiri is cool. He doesn't really mess with Izuku, would talk to him here and there, and be friendly. Kurogiri even helps Izuku get away from Shigaraki from time-to-time and he's grateful for that.
To summarize it all, everything is going well...for the most part. Something has been bothering him ever since he ran away. He still has memories coming up at random times when he was at his old house. They are still vivid memories that play on replay. There have been days he sits at the bar and stares off into space.
This time, he is staring off into space while standing in the middle of the training room. When he least expected it, he was punched in the face by a heavy fist. Izuku took a few steps back while holding his cheek. Once he recovered, he opened his eyes and looked ahead of him. Where did she-
BOOM! Izuku was slammed into the ground in the blink of an eye. The back of his head hit the ground hard, which caused him to hold his head.
"Get out of your head. This is not the time to think," Toga said.
"So-"
"Don't say you're sorry but pay attention." She extends her hand out for Izuku to grab. "Rule number 14: Don't get into your head or else you'll be dead before you know it. In combat, thinking doesn't matter because you don't have enough time to think."
Izuku reaches his hand out and locked with Toga's. She pulls him up to his feet and Izuku dusts his shirt off. "Right, so-"
"Don't," Toga said as she closed her eyes and held her hand up. "You don't need to be sorry all the time. You're still learning, and learners make mistakes, except now...What's going on? You don't usually mess up on this type of fighting?"
Izuku stared at Toga and drifted away from her. "You know...memories," He replied while rubbing the back of neck.
Toga puts her hand on her hip when she heard his response. It's not the first time he told her about the memories. She shows empathy every time, but it's starting to affect his fighting. "I understand the memories are hard to forget, but you need to forget them. All it is doing is putting you down and getting in the way of your fighting. You don't want to be the one to die in battle, do you?"
Izuku shook his head. "Good. I'll go get you water."
Izuku said "okay", and she gave him a smile before she left the room. He was now left alone in the room and had nothing to do. He ended up pacing around the room with his hand behind his back. As he was thinking, he heard the door open. He looked back and saw someone he did not expect.
