Marcus POV

As I walked into the last theater, I could see a hodgepodge of rudimentary support beams holding up a severely damaged ceiling. "Let's clear this one quickly, I'm getting a bad feeling from this place." I heard Jonathan say out loud, and I nodded in agreement. We slowly advanced down the center aisle, occasionally glancing left and right. Finally reaching the front, I sighed. "Alright, let's regroup in the main hall, all clear here." Suddenly, one of the support poles snapped, and then as if it was a chain reaction, the roof began to collapse in on itself. "GO GO RUN!" We sprinted up the aisle, "ALMOST THE-" I felt a sharp pain and I was cast into sudden darkness.

Jonathan POV

"MARCUS!" I had become trapped in a small cavity of debris; A large slab of roofing had shielded us from most of the debris. I saw Fisher unconscious near a large AC unit, which I quickly pulled him away from. I checked him over and found that he had a rather large piece of rebar sticking through his leg. I grabbed a saw from my pack and quickly severed the already-weakened metal and fastened the rebar securely, to prevent it from coming out and causing more damage. After firmly tying the last bandage, I applied a shot of morphine and grabbed my radio. "This is Jonathan! Does anyone read me?!" I waited a few seconds for a response, and upon hearing none, I pressed the transmit button again. "The theater we were in just collapsed! I can't find Marcus, and Fisher is hurt real bad!" I put the radio back in its pouch and started inspecting our prison.

A large support beam had held up a concrete slab, creating a sort of shield that protected us from the worst of the collapse. Climbing up, I quickly found sunlight. I reached down and hoisted Fisher out, being careful not to cut him on any sharp debris. I played him down a little away from the collapsed area. I looked out over the collapse again and quickly spotted Marcus lying in the center. I slid down the debris and quickly checked him for injuries. I spotted a small cut across his forearm, but nothing serious. I applied a bandage to his arm and then lifted him into a fireman's carry.

"JONATHAN! FISHER! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?!" I suddenly heard panicked voices shouting through the radio. "We're on the roof! I managed to save em both, but Fisher has a large piece of rebar through the leg and I need professional aid here now." I set the radio down and leaned back.

-Time Skip-

Tammy POV

"Aaaaaaaaand...clear!" I threw the rebar behind me and quickly wrapped a tight bandage around Fisher's leg and applied a stim. "Will he be alright?" I turned around to see the human, a mildly concerned expression clearly visible. "Yeah, he just needs to rest up a bit and let it heal, he'll be fine." He sighed and sat down, clearly in distress. I sat down next to him, observing his body language. "I just feel like I coulda done better, ya know?" I patted his back, causing him to tense up for a moment. "Nah, to be honest you did pretty well as is." He leaned back and looked up at the ceiling, clearly not convinced.

"You're not too bad, for a human I mean." He gave me a small smile, before taking off his pack and looking at his R2R. He rubbed his finger on the frame before setting it down and flicking a few switches. The lights inside the dials blinked to life, and the rims slowly began to turn, faster and faster. There was a crackling of static, before a song began to stream through the speakers.

As the music filled my ears, I couldn't help but feel strangely relaxed, as if I was reliving all my best moments from the past. It was really...nostalgic. I leaned back and let the music wash over me, like a warm blanket fresh out of the dryer. I looked left, and the rest of the team, save Fisher as he was still unconscious, was seemingly in the same state as I was currently. Marcus was looking to the side, but his eyes stared miles away. Ash seemed to have a dreamy kind of look on her face, which was strange, seeing that usually furious-looking face finally look calm. Todd was already asleep, but a small smile was slowly creeping up his face. Adley was playing on her tac-pad, but she was tapping her foot to the beat, seemingly enjoying it.

'Just saying...' I blocked those thoughts just as Jonathan gave me a concerned look. "Hey, you alright? Your tail is all bunched up and whatnot...n-not to be intrusive or anything!" I chuckled lightly. "N-no, just remembering some...recent events..." He smiled reassuringly, seemingly understanding. "Yeah, this setting on my reel-to-reel has a way to make music do that. He leaned back and tilted his helmet forward, signifying he was going to catch some Z's. "Oy! Tammy! C'mere!" I turned to see Ash waving me over. I stood up and walked over.

As soon as I was in earshot, she immediately asked a semitruck of a question. "Why the fuck are you getting all close to the human?!" I growled, annoyed at her comment. "For your information, he's our teammate, and he has a name." "Oh really? Honestly, you're getting way too close to the human, what are you a no-fur fucker?" I growled, annoyed at her blatant racism. "For your information, I am not a no-fur fucker! He can rot in hell for all I care! Now get off my case!" She shrugged and walked back towards the front of the chopper. 'Damn little piece of-' I froze.

Jonathan was staring at me. 'He was awake the whole time...' I instantly felt guilt rise in my chest. "Jonathan I-" "Forget it." There was anger and pain evident in his voice, and I felt my ears flatten back. "I'll let the General know I want to move when we get back." He stood up, wincing a bit before walking to the back. I internally groaned. 'Nice going dipshit! Now he probably thinks we aren't friends anymore!' I sighed and sat down next to Adley. She gave me a glance before returning to her tac-pad. This was gonna be an uncomfortable ride back.
