Alice entered the Queen's chamber and was surprised to find her elder brother, Crown Prince Henrik, conversing with Queen Sabina.

It was an uncommon occurrence for Alice to interact with the busy Crown Prince, as they had only done so twice in the past 14 years - once when she was congratulated for becoming a princess and the other when she sought permission for sword training.

Upon noticing Alice's arrival, Queen Sabina hurried towards her, took her hand, and led her to the couch.

The Queen, filled with excitement, mentioned Alice's upcoming transition to adulthood and discussed plans for her birthday celebration with her elder brother.

Queen Sabina: My dear, you will soon be an adult... I was talking about your birthday celebration with your elder brother.

Alice: "I am delighted to see mother arranging everything for my birthday.

Queen Sabina: Oh, come now, it is a mother's duty... anyway, I was planning to go to boutique and jeweller personally.

Both Alice and Henrik reacted with surprise, exclaiming "MOTHER!" in unison.

The Queen chuckled, acknowledging her children's concerns about her health but expressing her desire to spend time with her daughter.

Queen Sabina: I understand, I understand, my children worry about my health... but I truly want to go out with my daughter. Why don't you accompany your sister?

This suggestion surprised both Alice and Henrik, but they chose to remain silent, respecting the Queen's wishes. Sensing a potential rift between the siblings, Queen Sabina inquired about their relationship.

Queen Sabina: I don't know, but I feel like you both are not on good terms.

Prince Henrik: It is not the matter, mother.

Alice: Brother is occupied with state affairs... he simply does not have time, and I did not want to disturb him.

Queen Sabina: That is why you both are going out together... should I ask even Felix to join you?

After a brief pause, the Queen's desire to see her three children together became evident. Alice reassured her mother, mentioning that she had already arranged for her birthday attire and was willing to spend time with her brothers.

Alice: Mother should not worry much... I have already arranged for a dress from the tailor... the jewels are ready... but if you want me and my brothers to spend time together, we can attend the village festival tonight.

Queen Sabina: Really!! That is wonderful... my daughter is so considerate.

The Queen's radiant smile brought relief to Prince Henrik as well.

As Alice and Henrik exited the room, Prince Henrik initiated the conversation.

Prince Henrik: I am grateful to you.
Alice was slightly surprised to hear those words.

Alice: May I inquire about the reason behind the Crown Prince's gratitude?

Prince Henrik: For restoring my mother's happiness.

Alice: That is my duty... the reason why the Emperor brought me to the palace.

Although her words sounded detached, it was true that if the Queen had not accepted Marina as her daughter, she would not have become a princess of the kingdom. However, Alice's actions so far were driven not only by duty but also by maternal love.

Prince Henrik: So... Felix and I will be waiting for you tonight at the carriage.

Alice stood still, observing the slightly embarrassed Henrik.

Alice: The village festival was a pretext to convince the Queen Mother.

Prince Henrik: I do not wish to deceive her when she inquires about the festival tomorrow.

Alice couldn't help but smile at her embarrassed elder brother, who was willing to attend the festival with her.

Alice: It takes me a considerable amount of time to get ready. I would make my Imperial brothers wait for me.

Prince Henrik: I don't mind waiting, but I can't guarantee Felix's patience.

Alice: And I can guarantee that you will convince him.

With those words, Alice walked away. Prince Henrik remained in his spot, gazing at the Princess with a smile.
Prince Henrik: It's a novel experience...
He whispered to himself.
