“Pardon the interruption,” the man drew back his spear.
“I'm from the Grim Reaper Dispatch,” he stated calmly. “I'm William T. Spears,” he adjusted his glasses. “I've come to collect that Reaper over there,” he added, nodding toward Grell.
“Will! William!” Grell exclaimed as William jumped down from the roof.
“You came to rescue me-” Grell began, but William swiftly stepped on his head, slamming him to the ground.
William adjusted his glasses again and opened the book he had been holding. “Agent Grell Sutcliff, you have committed a breach of protocol. First, the killing of those...” William began his reprimand.
Isabella breathed heavily and glanced at the newcomer. Just like Grell, he had no soul. Empty. “Another Reaper, huh,” she thought as she observed him.
William finished reading the book and stepped toward Sebastian, bowing, which was a disgrace for a Reaper to do to a demon. “You've really caused us trouble this time,” he said, his tone stern and disapproving.
William dragged Grell away from the scene by pulling his hair. But before leaving, he glanced at Isabella, sighed, and retrieved something from his pocket—a small container with a gold liquid inside.
Isabella was growing weaker by the minute, lacking the energy to open her eyes or say anything. William approached her and knelt in front of her.
Sebastian followed his movements, wary.
“I am doing this because His Majesty told me to,” William explained. “Hey, wake up, bishop, wake up,” he gently tapped her cheek. Isabella made a sound but made no effort to open her eyes.
Ciel stared at him, puzzled. “What are you doing?” he asked.
William opened the lid and swallowed the liquid from it.
Sebastian quickly understood what he was doing and didn't like it. He was about to grab him when William took hold of Isabella's chin and put his lips to hers.
Isabella's eyes slowly opened, finding a strange man near her face. She also felt some liquid entering her mouth and swallowed it.
In Sebastian's eyes, William and Isabella looked intimate, and he didn't like it one bit.
The wound on her stomach was slowly healing, and Isabella's strength gradually returned. William felt compelled to pull away from her, but there was something about her that attracted him—a warmth and light that he couldn't resist. Before he could indulge in it, Sebastian grabbed his collar and threw him away from her. Sebastian glared at him, protective and possessive.
"S... sebastian...?" Isabella's voice called out weakly.
Sebastian quickly looked at her and knelt down beside her, gently caressing her hair. "Are you alright?" he asked with concern.
She only nodded.
Sebastian lifted her into his arms and glanced at Ciel. "Young Master, now that this case is over, do you want to rest?" he inquired.
Ciel massaged his temple. "Yes, I am quite tired, Sebastian. Let's go," he agreed.
As the trio left, William glanced at them, especially at Sebastian and Isabella. He touched his lips where he could still feel her warmth. His heart was beating faster than usual.
"I hope to see you again, bishop," he murmured softly.
The next day, Madame Red's funeral was held. Isabella conducted the service as an Archbishop, wearing a red robe that caught many people's attention and sparked various opinions.
Elizabeth looked at her beautiful aunt, resting in peace in her coffin. "Aunt Red," she whispered softly.
Suddenly, the church door swung open, and in walked Ciel, adorned in a red coat. His eyes met Isabella's, bringing a smile to his face as he noticed her attire.
Even Sebastian couldn't help but smirk. He was proud of her. He was impressed by her.
Ciel gives Madame Red a red rose and tuck in between her ear and her hair. The color that will always burn for her.
“You did a great job, Bishop,” an elderly aristocratic lady remarked.
“Thank you, Your Majesty,” Isabella bowed her head to the woman.
The woman was none other than Queen Victoria of England. She looked at Isabella with pride.
“In exchange for not being sent to America, you made a vow to me: to do whatever I ask in exchange for staying by his side. My first mission for you was to catch Jack the Ripper with the Earl. The Earl never told me who the culprit was, but I believe you will, right, Bishop?” the Queen inquired.
Isabella clenched her fist. She did not relish the truth she had to reveal.
“It was Madame Red, Your Majesty. She did it because those prostitutes aborted their babies. Unable to have children herself, she harbored anger towards them. That is all I can say,” she explained.
“Good job, Bishop. By the way,” the Queen stood from her throne, approached Isabella, and handed her a letter, “your next mission is to go to India.”
“India? But...” Isabella started.
“I did say you could stay by his side, but you also vowed to abide by my orders. Don't worry, it won't take long. Besides, the Earl has someone strong by his side now, right? I doubt anything bad will happen to him,” the Queen reassured her.
Isabella had no choice but to comply. This was the only way to stay by Ciel's side.
She knelt on the ground, “I, Archbishop Isabella Sinclair, will follow your orders, Your Majesty.”
After Ciel visited the grave of the last victim, they returned to the townhouse. Later that night, after Sebastian put his young master to sleep, he stepped out of the house and stood before it.
His eyes landed on an individual wearing a white cloak over their head.
Sebastian recognized the person immediately by their scent. “Love?”
Isabella pulled down her hood and smiled at him. “Good evening, love,” she greeted.
Sebastian smiled and walked toward her, embracing her. “Where have you been? You were gone for the entire afternoon,” he asked.
“I just had some matters to attend to,” she said.
Sebastian was about to pull away when she stopped him and tightened her embrace. Sebastian was baffled. He looked down at her, concerned.
“Love, is something wrong?” he asked.
“Nothing's wrong. I just want to hug you, that's all,” she replied.
Isabella was reluctant to reveal her departure to India. She knew he would try to stop her and ask why she needed to go so far, making her hesitate.
Sebastian was puzzled by her unusual behavior but held her close.
“Sebastian, kiss me,” she whispered.
