Sora found her way to the forest of death joining her team as everyone made their way there. Things were a bit tense as Sora kept ignoring them just waiting. Once everyone had arrived things began Anko began to explain things to them. She first handed out a form they had to sign basically agreeing to the fact that the leaf village can't be held liable for anything that happens in the forest of death be that injury or death. Her team sighed it handing it in.
She continued to explain this part of the exam. Each team would be given a heaven or earth scroll and during their time in the forest of death, they would have to get the opposite of theirs from another team, which is why she said yesterday the number of people would be cut in half. It was basically a survival test mixed with a retrieval mission. Once they got the scrolls they had to make their way to the tower in the center of the forest. They had five days to do so and they weren't allowed to open the scrolls. Plus the whole team had to make it to the tower.
Sora looked at her teammates they weren't wrong when they assumed this was a team-heavy test. Each team was taken to a different gate and handed a scroll. They had the earth scroll. They sat there waiting for when they would be let in. Sora still stayed quiet, a sick feeling coming to her stomach getting a bad feeling about this.
Their gate was soon opened and they ran in their mood immediately Serious. Aisura was the one they gave the scroll to as they ran through the forest.
"So what's the plan?" Sora questioned.
"Attack the first team we come across," Senshi said smiling.
"Why are you always so violent? There are other methods than just running in head first," Aisura sighed.
"She never said anything about running in head first she just said attack the first team we see. Isn't it better to get the scroll as soon as possible? It will be harder to find the right scroll as time passes and people get to the tower," Sora said.
"So how do we do that?" Aisura asked.
"Multiple ways. We can find a team and watch them until we know what scroll they have and only attack when we know it's the right one," Sora said.
"But that may take too much time, they may not reveal their scroll at all," Senshi said.
"Correct. We could also just attack the first team we see find and hope it's the right one," Sora continued.
"But that can waste our energy and strength so we are weak when we need it," Aisura said.
"That is also correct. Lastly, we can sit in one place and set up traps and detection and wait to be attacked, if we let people know what our scroll is the people that have the opposite should attack us others who have the same should leave us alone not wanting to waste their energy on us," Sora said.
They looked at each other deciding on that one. They would act weak and incompetent to lure people in and leave the scroll out to draw in the people they wanted. Using themselves and the scroll as bait. They were after all just rookies, surely they would be beaten easily. They were counting on people thinking that. They just had to find a good place to set up.
It took a few hours but they found a good place, it was near a river. They began setting up traps and markers that would let them know if anyone entered the area. Now they just had to wait. They would give it three days before moving onto a more aggressive strategy them having rested and the other teams hopefully being worn out enough for them to have the upper hand.
"The way she comes up with strategies is really scary sometimes. I'm glad she is on our team," Aisura said sitting next to Senshi.
"I know, those strategies of hers have really helped us out a lot," Senshi said as she looked up to the tree Sora sat in keeping watching.
"I'm worried about her," Senshi sighed.
"Me too," Aisura agreed.
Sora sat in the tree her nerves growing. This was the best option but she was scared she was making herself an easy target for Orochimaru, if he was going to get involved it would be now. They were in an isolated and dangerous place, he could get away with a lot right now. Sora looked down at her teammates scared that she was putting them in danger. Them just being close to her at the moment was dangerous.
"I'm sorry," Sora mumbled to herself as she looked back out into the forest, hoping to calm her uneasy heart.
Two days passed of them sitting and waiting, they were growing restless, preparing to leave tomorrow. It was their last night of sitting still and Sora was on the graveyard shift. It was two in the morning and she was sitting in her tree when she heard a bell jingle, someone had entered the perimeter and they were about two minutes away. She woke up her teammates before returning to the tree acting like nothing had happened while they stayed in their sleeping bags pretending to be asleep, the scroll now being placed next to Senshi. Now to see if they would attack.
Sora listened as more bells went off knowing they were coming in behind her. She could feel them behind her but she still didn't react pretending to be asleep as well. She watched as the three ninjas from the sound village jumped down into their camp.
"I don't understand why Orochimaru is so interested in someone so weak. I mean look how easily we snuck in," the short red-haired female said.
Sora felt her stomach fall as they walked over to Senshi hoping they didn't hear that. It took everything in Sora not to react in the moment. So Orochimaru was involved in all of this. She wasn't surprised but it still made her nauseous.
"Looks like they have the scroll we need. Should we just take it and leave?" The boy who had white hair with a black steak in it questioned.
"Orochimaru wanted us to test her strength?" The brown-haired boy said.
"And we did that, they are pathetic," The female said.
They had already heard what they needed. They had the opposite scroll to them. Sora quietly rose to her feet getting into position. Senshi gripped the Katana that she slept with preparing to take action. Aisura took a deep breath also waiting for the right moment.
As Sora got into position the the brown-haired boy turned around to check on Sora only to see she was gone.
"Yasushi, Sachiko look," The brown-haired boy said pointing at the tree.
"What now Atsushi?" The redhead Sachiko said.
She stopped as she looked up at the tree becoming tense.
"Where the hell did she go," Sachiko growled.
Senshi took this distraction and threw the scroll at Aisura who hid it putting up a genjutsu on a stick near Senshi making it look like the scroll. The two then stood up drawing the attention of the three, Sesnhi picked up the fake scroll putting it in her ninja pouch making sure they saw it.
Senshi ran up to them Katana in hand but as she went to hit Yasushi. Atsushi stepped in front of him blocking her katana with his own smiling at her.
"So you were awake the whole time," Atsuchi said smiling.
Aisura ran around pulling out his Sebon and throwing them at Atsuchi. His strength suddenly changed shocking Senshi as he pushed her back and deflected the sebon keeping that smile on his face.
"Come on is that the best you got, I could beat you two without much effort," He said, though he didn't sound cocky he seemed genuinely sure he could.
This made Sora nervous as she stayed hidden in the trees waiting for the right moment to move. If they were with Orochimaru this wasn't going to be an easy fight. She should have just run away when she had the chance but she couldn't stomach leaving her teammates alone.
How was this going to play out?
