Tumse jab hum milenge toh baatein kayi kahenge
{When we meet , my words will flow}

Kahenge kahaniyaan khushiyon mai doobi hui,
{Stories of joy, and sorrows undertow}

Aur afsaane kayi gum  se labrez kahenge
{Hidden in grief the tales l'll weave}

Gumm hokar tere hi rango main , tumhe rangrez kahenge
{Lost in your hues ,you'll I perceive , the artist that paints my scene}

Tumse jab hum milenge toh baatein kaayi kahenge
{When we meet, my words will flow}

Ya fir kahenge kahaniyaan baarishon ko tarasti ,banjar si zameeno ki

{Or may be lands of parched desire, where rains forget and flames transpire}

Ya jis gulistan se laaye hain phool tumhare sadke,  unhe zarkhez kahenge
{These wilting blooms, your garden's glow}

Tumse jab hum milenge toh baatein kaayi kahenge.....
{When we meet, my words will flow}

*Flashback continues*

One and a half years had flown by since the Priya fiasco. Mahima, back in Delhi, chased her dream of becoming an IPS officer with renewed vigor. Jagjeet, now a full-fledged DSP, commanded respect in the bustling city of Moga, Punjab. Their bond, tested by distance, had only grown stronger. Yet, the physical separation remained a constant ache, a void filled with late-night calls and stolen moments snatched from their busy schedules.

However, a subtle shift had settled in their dynamic. Jagjeet, ever since the Priya incident, had become protective, bordering on controlling. He rarely mentioned his colleagues, and whenever a female name did slip through, his tone would sharpen ever so slightly. "Did you say Ritu from form your coaching again? What did she need this time?" Mahima would brush it off, but a seed of doubt had been sown. Was he jealous? Did he not trust her?

One evening

Mahima shut her laptop with a sigh, the glow of the screen momentarily etching fatigue lines on her face. Picking up her phone, she saw a missed call from Jagjeet. A smile tugged at her lips as she dialed back.

"Hey babe," Jagjeet's voice filled her ear, warm and familiar.

"Hi," Mahima replied, settling onto the couch. "Sorry I missed your call. Just finished prepping for tomorrow's polity test."

"Polity, huh?" Jagjeet chuckled. "Trying to understand the laws already?"

Mahima laughed. "Something like that. Though, to be honest, memorizing these articles feels a little..."

"Pointless?" Jagjeet finished her sentence, his tone laced with a hint of disapproval.

Mahima hesitated. "Well, not exactly pointless. But the real world application sometimes seems..."

"Different from the textbook, you mean?" Jagjeet cut in again. "Look, Mahima, I know you're brilliant. You aced your other tests. But that's just the beginning, the academy is even tougher, and these foundational concepts are important. Don't underestimate them."
