Ambika opened the door to Rudraksha's room and found him sitting on the edge of the bed, his head bowed, hands yanking at his hair in frustration. His heavy breathing filled the room, and the sight of him in such distress broke her heart.
"You have misunderstood," she said, breaking the silence, her mind racing with thoughts of how to explain everything to him.
He steadied himself at her words, still refusing to acknowledge her presence. His pain was palpable, and it pierced her deeply.
She entered the room and slowly closed the door behind her. "It's not at all how it looks," she stated softly.
He shot his eyes up at her, red with unshed tears, and the sight made her heart ache. She had never seen him cry like this, never seen him so vulnerable and broken.
"I bet it wasn't for me," he said bitterly, throwing a crumpled piece of paper at her. It fell to the floor, and she picked it up.
"Come meet me in the mango garden, now."
-Ambika.Her heart sank as she read the note. She understood immediately that it wasn't from her; she had never written anything like that. She remembered the similar note that had been sent to her, the one supposedly from him.
"Rudra, I haven't wrote this," she said, her voice trembling with desperation. "I got a similar note, supposedly from you. It's a setup, Rudra. Lev is trying to tear us apart."
He looked at her with a mix of annoyance and confusion, the pain in his eyes stark. "Why would he do that?"
"Because he wants to hurt us, to hurt me," she said, stepping closer. "Lev has been tormenting me for years, manipulating me, making sure I couldn't tell anyone. I was terrified, Rudra. And now he's trying to ruin what we have."
Rudraksha's face contorted with a mix of emotions-anger, confusion, disbelief. "What do you mean...? Why didn't you tell me sooner?" he demanded, his voice cracking.
"I was ashamed," she whispered, tears streaming down her face. "I thought you'd see me as tainted, used. I thought you'd leave me."
Rudraksha was confused about all this. He tried to make sense of what she was saying, but he understood that whatever it was, it was dead serious.
He stood up, his face a mix of concern and bewilderment. "What are you saying? I don't understand."
She sighed and walked towards him, sitting down on the bed and staring at the floor. "When I was ten, my family sent me to Russia to study. I stayed at his house with his family..." She bit her tongue, hesitating. "I had a crush on him... And we started dating, but nobody knew about this..."
"You were ten," Rudraksha said, his voice low and disbelieving.
She nodded, tears welling up in her eyes. "I was... And he was a bit older than me. He knew about my feelings for him, and he used them."
Rudraksha felt his heart break at her confession. The thought of her with someone else was painful. He wondered if things would have been different if she had never gone to Russia, if she had stayed in Bharat and grown familiar with him instead. His thoughts were interrupted as she spoke again.
"He was a monster, Rudra," she said, looking up at him, tears streaming down her cheeks. "You call yourself a monster because you've never met the true monster."
"He was a great manipulator. He made my family believe he was a nice person. He made me believe that whatever he did to me was normal, that it was what love actually was. I was innocent and naive, and I believed him. I believed him for so many years... But then you entered my life and taught me what love actually is."
