"You called everyone right?" Nikki asked Victor as she fixed her hair. "Yes, Darling," Victor replied knowing there were several more questions to follow. "And you made sure the decorator put the cake in the dining room?" "Yes." "How about Miguel? Was he able to get the food from Gina's and heat it up here?" Nikki was getting ready to ask another question, when Victor walked up to her. He motioned for her to sit on the couch next to him. "Nikki, everything is in place and ready for the guests." Nikki sighed "I know, but I'm worried that something is going to go wrong." "But why, we have the best recreational directors and chefs in town," Victor explained, trying to get her to relax. "I know, it's just, this is our chance to show everyone that we mean it this time. Nikki turned to face Victor. She looked deep in his eyes and confessed "That this is real, and not just a toxic, joke of a relationship some make it out to be." "You know that's what they think." "They think that we are just a ticking time bomb, with nothing but destruction in our future." Victor took her hand in his, and pulled her closer. "Darling, who cares what they think." "You and I know that what we have is real, and that we have gotten it right this time." "Don't you think?" he asked her. "Yes," she replied. "And everyone that is close to us knows that what we have is something you find only once in a few lifetimes." "I know, I'm just overreacting, I'm sorry." Victor pulled her into a loving embrace. "My darling, you have nothing to apologize for, this is what we need in our relationship. We need this communication, it's healthy. "I know, and I love you," she said to him in a loving whisper. Darling, while we are talking like this, I have something to ask you?" "Oh," Victor said intrigued. Nikki pulled back a little and said "I want to invite Adam tonight."
