New Beginnings

Finally

"Are you sure you're feeling alright?" Victor asked as Nikki was finishing up her dinner.

"Yes Victor...I'm fine," Nikki smiled.

"I'm just concerned, that's all," Victor said with a serious tone.

Nikki put down her fork, and turned to Victor-looking in his eyes. She took his hand, "Darling I know, but I'm fine...you don't have to worry about me."

"You know I can't do that," Victor smiled at her. I love you too much. He waited a few moment, and said "listen..umm...I'm sorry about yesterday, I should've have let you see Christianson.

"Darling...don't apologize, just please let me see him tomorrow," Nikki began, "I miss him so much, and I feel strong enough...I really do."

Victor stood from his chair, and walked to the doorway. "Why wait for tomorrow, when you can see him now."

"You mean.."

Victor smiled, and told Sharon, who was in the hallway, to come in.

Sharon handed Christianson to Victor. Nikki was already beaming, when Victor walked to the edge of her bed. He sat Christianson in her lap, and gave her a quick kiss before walking to see Sharon out.

Nikki kissed Christianson on the top of his head. "My angel," she whispered softly in his ear. I missed you so much. Tears drifted slowly down her face as she held him close to her chest.

    Victor stood in the doorway, looking at his fiance and his son. In that moment, all of his worries and concerns drifted miles away. Looking at the two most important people in his life, he knew everything was going to be ok.

After seeing Sharon out, Victor sat on the chair next to Nikki's bed.

"Thank you so much," Nikki told him.

   Victor kissed her on the cheek, letting her know thanks was not needed. Just seeing the two of them made it all worth it. He looked at his fiance holding their son, and all of his worries and concerns drifted miles away. Victor knew that all that he needed was right in front of him, and he was going to secure it forever.

"Darling...why don't we get married, right now," Victor bluntly suggested.

"Right now?" Nikki chuckled, almost jokingly.

"Yes, I'll call Judge Stevens' and we'll make it official."

"You're serious aren't you?" she chuckled as Christianson made baby noises.

"What better time than now, sweetheart? You're almost completely healed, and we have our son here."

"Yes...but we also have four other children, and what about Katherine?"

"Darling, we can invite them, what if Katherine married us? he asked.

"I would love that, our closest friend marrying us."

"So, you want to get married then?" he asked once more.

Nikki looked down at Christianson,  who was holding Victor's finger. "Yes," she told him. "Let's do it."

Victor kissed her and called Katherine to make the arrangements, while Nikki called the kids.
