The Christening

The guests are arriving at Christianson's party at the ranch. The living room is decorated in all blue and white, with a banner above the entrance way between the living room and the dining room that says "welcome baby boy." Victor and Nikki were mingling with the guests, while Christianson was taking a nap upstairs. Nikki was very surprised at how well the decorators were able to move everything from Gina's to the ranch. Victor could tell Nikki was happy, by her glow when someone would congratulate them on Christianson. "It makes me so happy to see you smile," Victor said to her as he kissed her lips. "My happiness is all due to you and our handsome boy." Nikki put her arms around Victor's neck, and loving every second of this moment." The two didn't have to speak, their eyes spoke louder than words. Victor was completely content with the fact that had given in and invited Adam, he knows that what he and Nikki have is the greatest thing in his life, and he couldn't live without her. Nikki was very surprised by Victor's apology at the end, it was just what she needed to know that he has changed and is willing to compromise to make her happy. And God she loves that man with all her heart and soul.  "It's so good to see the two of you together again," Katherine said as she and Murphy interrupted them. "Yes it is," Victor replied while he smiled at Nikki. "You know darling," Nikki began "I think I'd better go get the star of the show up. "I'll get him darling," Victor stopped her. "Are you sure?" "Yeah, you just stay here and visit with Katherine  and Murphy," he told her. Victor stopped to kiss her on the cheek before climbing the stairs. "Boy, Christianson sure has Victor wrapped around his finger," Murphy laughed. "He is such an amazing father, after three months he still surprises me," Nikki replied proudly. "I'm going to refill my punch, can I get you ladies anything?" Murphy asked. "No, I'm fine darling." "No, thank you Murphy."

      Victoria and Nick walked up to Nikki and Katherine. "Where's dad?" Victoria asked. "He is upstairs getting Christianson. "Oh, I'm so excited to hold him again," Victoria added. "Calm down Vic, we don't want you to scare him," Nick joked. "Ha ha very funny," she replied. "I seen Faith, but not Johnny, where is he?" Nikki asked Victoria. "He is with Billy and Jill," She told Nikki. "And Faith came down with the flu yesterday, so Sharon stayed home with her." "Oh the poor thing, I hope she gets better, give her a kiss for the three of us." "Sure thing Mom. Adam arrives. He congratulates Nikki on Christason and gives him a gift. Adam gives him a squishy soccer ball. "Oh, that's so adorable, thank you. "You're welcome t." "Victoria, Nicholas," he said feeling their piercing eyes on him. "Adam," the two added in unison. Nikki scolded them with her eyes. Victor walks down the stairs with Christianson all dressed in his little suit. "There's the "man of the hour," Nick joked. Everyone chuckled. Victor walked out into the living room so all could see his little man. Christianson babbled baby talk, as he starred curiously at the crowd around him. The crowd filled with family and close friends clapped, and cheered. Jill walked closer to Victor and began, "Now, don't hog him," as she held her arms out for him. Christianson began crying. Katherine out of the corner muttered "She has that affect on babies, which made Nikki laugh. She then yelled "you scared him Jill." "I did not!", "he's  just not used to me." "Come back to Daddy," Victor gently put his arms around Christianson and took him in his arms. Nikki stepped out from the corner, and said "Ok everyone, now enjoy the punch and hors d'oeuvres, while the priest prepares for the Christening." The guest socialized as they waited to get their chance to hold Christianson, but he wasn't the willing participant his parents thought he would be. He would only allow 'strangers' to hold him for about ten seconds before he would not full blown cry, but would whimper. Nikki, Victor, or Katherine were the only one who he felt comfortable in. So, one of them would have to stand next to whoever was holding him, so he would not cry. Adam held him briefly, and he Christianson surprisingly did not cry. He became really fond of Adam in the  short time he's known him.  The christening went very well. Murphy and Katherine, being the godparents, were the one's to hold him during the christening. He wasn't the biggest fan of having water poured on his forehead, but didn't cry for very long. After the christening Victor and Nikki treated everyone to a nice dinner. Adam had to leave in the middle of the dinner, because somet Nikki and Victor took turns holding Christianson in their laps, while the other ate. Nikki got on to Victor about feeding him mashed potatoes, but Victor did it anyways.
