"After both of them went inside and changed after washing up, Meenu called everyone for dinner. The atmosphere at the dining table was heavy, and no one seemed in the mood to eat. Meenu and Rajiv sat quietly, their faces somber. The silence was suffocating, and Abhi couldn't ignore it any longer. He put his spoon down, his brows furrowing in concern."
He asked, his voice filled with worry: Maa, Papa, kya hua aap dono ko? Itne udaas kyu lag rahe ho? Aur Bhabi, aap bhi? Hua kya hai sabko? Aur mujhe koi kuch kyu nahi batata?
"Satakshi attempted to defuse the situation with a forced smile."
Satakshi said, trying to sound casual: Abhinav, kuch nahi hua hai. Tu apna khana kha.
But Abhi wasn't convinced. His eyes darted between their downcast faces, and he pressed: Nahi, Bhabi. Mujhe jaanna hai ab.
"Darsh's voice cut through the tension, sharp and commanding."
Darsh said, his tone leaving no room for argument: Abhi, tu chup reh.
"Abhi looked at his brother, his expression turning from concern to hurt."
Abhi asked, his voice raising: Main nahi hoon kya is ghar ka hissa? Koi mujhe kuch batana zaroori kyun nahi samajhta?
"Abhi stormed out of the dining hall, his footsteps echoing down the corridor as he dashed to his room. Darsh clenched his fists, anger bubbling up as he stood abruptly, ready to follow his brother. But before he could take a step, Satakshi gently placed a hand on his arm, stopping him."
Satakshi said softly yet firmly: Darsh, aap ruko. Main baat karti hoon usse
Darsh frowned, his voice laced with concern: Par—
Satakshi interrupted him, her tone calm but resolute: Darsh, kabhi na kabhi use bhi sach pata chalna hi hai. Aur kal, jab main ghar chali jaaungi, toh Abhi sawal toh karega hi. Main use samjhati hoon. Aap ruko.
"Darsh hesitated but eventually nodded, his jaw tightening. Every time Satakshi mentioned leaving, it felt like a dagger to both their hearts. He watched as she turned away, controlling her emotions as she walked toward Abhi's room. Satakshi knocked gently before stepping inside. Abhi sat on his bed, his arms crossed and his face still red with frustration. He didn't look up as she approached him, his silence louder than words."
She stopped a few steps away, her voice soft and steady: Abhi, baat kar sakte hain?
Abhi turned towards Satakshi, his eyes glistening with a mix of guilt and frustration: Sorry, bhabi... mujhe ese react nahi karna chahiye tha. Par koi mujhe kuch batata hi nahi hai. Mujhe left out feel hota hai... bura lagta hai.
Satakshi moved closer, her expression softening: Abhi, tumhe sab pyaar karte hain. Aur tum hurt na ho, isliye kuch cheezein tumse chhupayi jaati hain.
Abhi sighed, his voice quieter but resolute: Main samajhta hoon, bhabi. Lekin mujhe bhi jaana hai. Hum toh family hain na... dard kam nahi kar sakte, par baat toh kar sakte hain. Ab aap bataoge mujhe ki ghar mein kya chal raha hai?
Satakshi smiled warmly and gently patted his head: Hamara Abhi itna bada ho gaya. Theek hai, ab main tujhe sab sach bataungi. Par ek shart hai—jo sawal karne hain, mujhse karega, kisi aur se nahi. Manzoor hai toh bol?
Abhi nodded eagerly, his tone more hopeful: Haan bhabi, pakka. Main kisi aur se kuch nahi poochunga.
Satakshi took a deep breath and began, her voice calm yet firm: Tujhe pata hai na, tere bhaiya shaadi nahi karna chahte the?
