SATAKSHI'S VIEWPOINT :-

My father and I had a huge argument. He wanted me to get married, but I just didn't want to. I came up with an excuse, telling him I would marry right after completing my PhD, but he remained adamant and started looking for a suitable man for me. I know my father loves me, but he believes everything should be done at the right time, and for him, that means getting married at 25.

Being part of an Indian family, I can't reveal the real reason I don't want to get married. Nor do I wish to discuss it with anyone.

Satakshi said, frustration evident in her voice: paa, I've told you many times- I'll get married after I complete my PhD, so don't force me until then.

Manoj said firmly, trying to stay patient: akshu, but there's a right time for everything, and you can complete you PhD even after you get married.

Satakshi started, her tone wavering with desperation: paa but-

Manoj interrupted, his voice taking on a tone of finality, he added sternly: I don't want to hear anything, I've already seen a man and his family is perfect for you.  They'll be coming next week, and I just want you to be present. and don't you dare say anything about cancelling this marriage to them.

"Satakshi dashed to her room, tears pricking her eyes, as Manoj's determined footsteps echoed behind her"

Manoj knocked gently on the door and spoke in a calm voice: Akshu, we're your parents, and we only want the best for you. I never meant to hurt you. I've always supported you in everything, and I've never stopped you from following your dreams. But can you, just this once, not be stubborn and do what we ask? After a few months of your marriage, you'll understand why this decision was right.

"Satakshi felt trapped. She cared about her father as much as he cared about her, and the thought of disappointing him was unbearable. Reluctantly, Satakshi agreed, but a deep certainty gnawed at her—she would never fully accept this marriage, and one of them would end up getting hurt."

MEANWHILE AT DARSH'S HOUSE:-

"Darsh sat in his room, focused on his laptop, scanning through files when Meenu,(Darsh's  mother), came looking for him."

Meenu said, her tone warm but serious: darsh, sun na kuch baat krni thi.

Darsh, replied distractedly, eyes still on the screen: hn maa bolo.

Meenu: first, put your work aside and look at me.

"Before Darsh could react, Meenu closed the laptop herself, moved the files away, and sat next to him. Darsh let out a sigh, running a hand through his hair."

Darsh said with a hint of impatience but softened by his respect for her: ab jldi btao, kya bt h? I can't let my work suffer.

Meenu: so, your father met a girl, and he really liked her. and he wants you to meet her.

Darsh, in a somewhat irritated voice: maa, haven't we talked about all of this before? why do we always get stuck in this endless loop of marriage talks?

Meenu, her voice gentle yet persistent: kabhi na kabhi toh shaadi honi hi h, jb acchi ldki mil rhi h, toh isme glt kya h.

Darsh let out a frustrated sigh: But I don't want to get married. Why can't you understand this? I'm not going to repeat myself again-my answer will stay the same, ab aap jao and let me work.

"Meenu's eyes welled up, and silent tears started to fall. Darsh's heart clenched; her tears were his greatest weakness. He sighed, his irritation fading, and moved closer to her, gently wiping her tears away."

Darsh: maa, ese roya mt kro, please. mujhe accha nhi lgta agr aap rote ho toh.

Meenu, sniffling: toh rulata q hai? Ek choti si cheej hi toh boli h tujhse, tune hr baar mna kia, lkin maine kbhi kuch nhi bola. smjhi ki tujhe time cahhiye, lkin is baar, please tu bhi smjh, bs ek br milne m kya hi jaa rha h.

Darsh, sighing in frustration: maa, you know very well ki m mna q kr rha hu, or dekhkr kya hi ho jaaega? kuki mera jawab same hi rhega. M kbhi use pyar de hi nhi paunga. toh ku kisi ki life khrab krni h?

Meenu, with pleading eyes: darsh ek br bt maanle, please. Meri or tere papa ki bhi arrange marriage thi. Shaadi krne ke lie pyar zroori nhi hota h, pyar toh shaadi ke bd bhi ho jata h. Vo bhot pyari ldki h, acchi family se h. ek br milne m koi harz nhi .

Darsh, sighing deeply: yrr maa... aap itne ziddi q ho? thk h, m usse milunga, lkin agr mujhe sach m lga ki uske sth nhi rh skta, toh m usi time mna krdunga.

Meenu's voice softened, hoping to seal his agreement, her concern for him evident in her words: pr phle promise kr, agr tujhe vo thodi bhi acchi lgi toh tu mna nhi krega.

Darsh, shaking his head, trying to hold back his emotions: firstly, I can't understand why you're even persuading me for this. Marriage is not a joke or a play like 'ghar-ghar', it's a matter of my whole life. If we get married, we'll have to live with each other till we die. and what's the point in living with each other like strangers? But if you say so, there's no harm in meeting. the decision will be up to you. But remember one thing:  if we get married, don't ever expect me to behave like a loving husband.

Meenu, nodding in agreement, her voice soft but resigned: hn thk h, sb zimmedari meri, tu bs mil lena. Next week hm unke ghr jaainge, toh tb mna mt krna.

" Darsh agrees and meenu happily goes to tell this news to her husband, rajiv. Both families were thrilled, their excitement palpable as they looked forward to the upcoming meeting. However, there were two people—Darsh and Satakshi—who were trapped in a web of confusion, both constantly battling their own worries and uncertainty about what the future would hold for them."
