unedited oops (i'll get to it later probably)

You hadn't talked to Satoru for weeks.

After picking up Kiyoko from him, using Nanami as a shield to keep conversation to a minimum, he hadn't seen you at all.

Usually you'd go down to the park near your house. It was an abandoned park. A certain gloomy air hung over it, so thick that that non-sorcerers would quickly get a bad feeling from it and refused to take their kids.

But Satoru had cleared out all the curses in a second when there was a small rock wall that Kiyoko wanted to climb. And since his demolition of those curses, there was nothing else that showed; even weak and stupid curses you could handle were too scared of the place.

It was a nice, peaceful place to take Kiyoko. And you usually did, when you had the time.

But Satoru stopped by everyday. He'd even resorted to sitting by the bench that the two of you always sat on, as you watched Kiyoko waddle around the playground, pushing through the struggle to get up the stairs

You never showed up.

He tried calling you a few times. And the definite key word there is that he tried. When he had time to himself (after a mission or while he watched movies with Yuji or when his other students were sparring in preparation for the Goodwill event), his fingers hovered above your contact, one that he still hadn't changed.

One he refused to change.

He successfully texted you once, and he regretted it greatly.

It was about five in the morning, and he'd just gotten back to his home (he didn't want to call it that). He didn't know if he was tired or just feeling a bit more insane than usual, but he pulled out his phone, and his fingers did what it always did.

They hovered above your name for a second. Actually, a couple more seconds than he usually did. He'd had a long day, and after such a day, he longed to hear your voice.

Satoru's eyes looked down at the contact below yours, saved in his favourites. He debated on pressing that number, calling his friend so he didn't do something he would regret.

But his finger slipped, and he'd pressed on your name.

Satoru's heart sped up, his blood rushing to his face, as he realized what he'd done. His fingers had never moved that fast, his thumb was quickly ending the call before it could even reach you. But he was unsure whether you would see that he called.

Did it ring? He hadn't noticed in his panic.

Quickly he went to message you. His heart clenched when he opened your messages, the last one being the one you sent him when you'd arrived to pick up Kiyoko.

It reminded him of how much he hated the situation he was in. Unable to see the people he loved unconditionally. What was worse about you is that you didn't even want to see him; he was sure his daughter would be missing him as much as he missed her, but you were indifferent and it sure was painful.

You: Hey

You: My bad

You: My hand slipped

You: Sorry if I woke you and Kiyo up

You: Actually speaking of Kiyo

You: I miss her so you know having a playdate or something soon would be nice

You: If you don't mind, obviously
