Is that a kid?

Yuji felt extremely bad.

He'd kicked himself for a little while, for asking such an ignorant question. He could sense his sensei's change in mood the second he had asked.

He'd apologized over and over again and despite the fact that Gojo waved it off, chuckling at Yuji's mistake, even Yuji could tell that his usually bubbly mentor was upset by the question.

He didn't want to ask more questions, but Yuji was admittedly curious.

He wished he could ask Megumi all the questions that were running through his mind.

"When did they get married?" After all, Gojo was a pretty young man. (Yuji knew his age because he had assumed Gojo was thirty once, and after dramatically gasping for much longer than a normal person could, Gojo made sure to drill in his real age into Yuji's brain.)

"Who is Gojo-sensei's ex-wife?" All Yuji knew was that Gojo was once married to a very beautiful woman. Everything about you was so unbelievably pretty - Gojo was a conventionally attractive guy, but there was something special about your beauty. But he had more questions. Were you a sorcerer? Were you from a major clan, like Gojo or Megumi? Did Megumi know you for as long as he had seemed to know Gojo?

Yuji frowned slightly, at the memory of his friend. He hadn't seen Megumi and Kugisaki in so long. It had only been a few weeks, but Gojo had told him that as sorcerers, they often had to quickly move on after a death. It was part of the career choice.

"Are you alright?" Yuji shook his head as he smiled brightly at the timid Junpei. "You seemed distracted."

"No, sorry, I was just thinking about my friends from"-

He paused.

Yuji had just remembered one of the many questions he had in his head.

But now, he didn't need an answer from Megumi or even Gojo.

One very noticeable thing about his sensei was everything about him. Gojo wore a blindfold, a clothing accessory which was already an odd choice. But even without weird accessories, Gojo stood out with his bright white hair and his blinding blue eyes.

It was clear to Yuji.

You giggled as your child stumbled over their tiny legs as they tried to walk quickly. Picking them up swiftly, you swung them around slightly before placing them on your hip.

The child suddenly paused in their giggling, making you stop as well.

When Yuji suddenly made eye contact with the child as their head swiveled to check who had been staring, Yuji quickly hid behind Junpei. He knew Gojo's eyes were intimidating, but holy shit. It seemed like Gojo knew how to hide the terrifying part of his eyes - this child clearly could not. Mind you, Yuji had never stared into Gojo's eyes.

You quickly looked over at the spot that your child had focused their eyes' on.

Whatever worry was overcoming you, quickly faded away.

You waved at Yuji with a kind smile, and peeking out from behind Junpei, he waved awkwardly. "Hello Yuji," you smiled. Tickling your daughter's stomach lightly, you forced out a small smile from her. "Kiyo, say hi!"

Your daughter pouted looking from you to Yuji continuously, but refusing to open her mouth. "Sorry about her," you chuckled lightly, patting her back. "Gojo finally let you out, huh?"

"Yeah," Yuji chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. "Uh, this is Junpei..."

You smiled politely, as Junpei bowed. "It's nice to meet you." You knew this boy was present at the theatre incident that Nanami had told you about. Despite it being part of the mission, it was a good thing that this gave Yuji someone around his age to talk to.

Yuji hesitated slightly before asking. "Is this your daughter?"

You smiled, nodding. "Yes, her name's Kiyoko. C'mon, say hi, honey." Your daughter decided to instead bury her head in the crook of your neck. "I swear she's usually more friendly. Did Gojo tell you about her?"

"Oh, she's Gojo's kid, too?"

Junpei's eyes widened. Yuji should really think before he talks.

You forced an awkward chuckle. "Yeah, she is... couldn't tell by the bright white hair? People ask me about it all the time."

"Oh, yeah, I guess that gave it away, ha..."

Yuji wanted out.

And you could tell that, too.

"Well, we better head back home... you two have fun, alright? Make sure not to stay out too long!"

Yuji nodded, waving as you walked away. Once you turned around and were far away enough, he let out a sigh of relief, falling onto Junpei's side. Junpei chuckled. "That was a dumb question."

"I know," Yuji whined. "I should just shut up from now on."
