Head over to my profile conversations if you want the link to the Spotify playlist for this book! It's Kenzie's (unreleased (potential spoilers sorry)) album. It's called "whispers". Enjoy this chapter!

Seven weeks had passed since I'd first step foot into the studio and written my first song.

And within seven weeks, it was safe to say that my life was very different. But nothing came close to this.

"You need to come to the studio right now," Sam had told me over the phone, a phone call that had dragged me out of bed before ten on my day off, and had led me to be here. Right now. Receiving quite possibly the most life changing news of my life.

"Sorry, you want to what?" I ask, getting the three men and one woman in front of me to repeat themselves.

"We want to sign you to our label," the man in the middle repeats, a very polished, professional smile on his face.

I look at Sam in disbelief. I hadn't authorised my songs to be sent to anyone, and the only person that had access to them was him.

He met my gaze instantly, clearly realised why I was glaring at him and shook his head.

"I didn't send them anything!" He protests, causing the woman to step in.

"We'd like to clarify — no demos were sent to us. We were here a couple of weeks ago, two rooms down and we heard the song you two were producing. If you're interested...we would like to make you an offer."

Which was why two weeks after that, I was officially signed to Blue Horizons as a singer-songwriter. The only people to know were Sam, Faith and my dad, and today was the day I was going to tell Harry, and also the rest of the guys, including management.

It was a big step, but I'd had two weeks to think it over, and I was finally ready.

I'd asked Harry to meet me at mine before travelling to the shoot together, because I owed it to him to tell him first.

"Hey," he greets, coming inside my apartment before allowing himself to give me a hug and to press a kiss against my forehead. He'd been very understanding and respectful of our conversation a few weeks ago, and things had been normal since then. No more serious conversations.

We were both hyperaware that our current situation wasn't going to last forever, and sooner rather than later one of us was going to confront the problem, but for right now, it was peaceful.

I still hadn't told Faith or my dad about Harry and I, which was eating away at me, just one more thing adding stress to my plate.

"Hi, do you want a drink?" I ask, tensing with anticipation as he wraps an arm around my waist.

He shakes his head, looking at me with concern. "Are you okay? What's going on?" He asks, clearly sensing the mood. He suddenly seemed to be on high alert, as if he was about to receive bad news.

I smile up at him, and turn to face him, my arms loosely wrapping around his neck. "I'm okay. I'm really good actually - I've got some big news, I'm just nervous," I explain, hoping to kill the nerves he was obviously feeling.

His shoulders relax, and my words seem to have calmed him. His arms are wrapped around my lower back now, and tighten at the sound of big news.

"Go on, then," he encourages, waiting patiently.

"I've been offered a record deal. By Blue Horizons," I tell him, knowing he won't know who that is, or the significance, but they've signed multiple singers who have gone on to dominate the industry. There are big shoes to fill.
