(5 months later)
Today is "extermination day". Adam is super hyped up and excited today, and so is the rest of the army, known as exorcists. Im extremely confused but i go in the large portal in front of me anyway, like the other exorcists. In wearing this weird helmet with horns and a led light mask which looks pretty cool but is messing terribly with my vision. But no matter. Once through the portal, i see a scarlet city and terrified faces. I don't comprehend the reason for their terror until i realise that theyre looking at us. It's us. Theyre afraid of us. I see a fellow exorcist brutally stab a citizen, killing him so i just mirror her movements. I am a little guilty for doing so but it is my job and duty so i must fulfil it.
After an hour or so i stop my genociding for a second to clear the air.
"Hey Sora where are we?"I ask another exorcist.
"Duh we're in hell, ma'am dont tell me you didnt know!" She says, pausing her stabbing for a moment to tell me and resumes once i turn away.
I realise in horror. These bodies, these citizens are...deceased human souls, just like us. But in hell. I wondered what they did to end up here. I shake the thought away and resume my job.
(timeskip: four hours later)
We've flown back through the portal and i look like an insane mess. But the thing that is really bothering me is the fact that i just killed approximately 150 people. I think about asking Adam about this and realise i shouldn't question him. The faculty of heaven have their reasons for this...right? I do kind of pity the people i killed, though. At least now i know why Adam and Sera told me to keep the "exterminations" secret from anyone besides them and the exorcists.
By the time me and Adam are home Melody is already there. She doesn't seem to be suspicious of our late return so i just retreat to our room. I am extremely afraid. Never have i ever hid something from Melody, or at least nothing this big, so im nervous. I will myself to keep my mouth shut from now on.
