The next morning i brace myself for what will happen. Adam texted me last night, telling me that Melody found out about the exterminations. Clumsy me. I shouldn't have left my office in his care. i knew something disastrous would happen but i hadnt expected something this bad. Its currently 10 am, about 3 hours before our weekly faculty meeting when Melody bursts in my office, clearly upset. Oh dear.
"What brings you here, Melody?" I ask nonchalantly.
"Don't play dumb with me, you know why im here." She says in a tone of anger.
"Fine. But that still doesn't explain why you are here." I say.
"I want to go on a mission. You have a problem of overpopulation in hell, correct? Then maybe extermination isn't the only way. Maybe the souls can be redeemed instead? I want to go down there myself and help them achieve that." She says in a firm tone.
I know of this. She wasn't the first one to suggest it. Lucifer had. And this actually was a possible way to take care of the problem. There were actually multiple redeemed souls here. But that method was too slow. And soon, we would be overpopulated too. But i knew better than to argue with her. I couldn't banish her either. It would cause too much uproar. And deep in both of our hearts, we knew. We both knew that she was more powerful than me. Not just in terms of magic and fighting skills, but also in terms of supporters, and i was told never to underestimate the power she held as the serafim of love. And there was something she didnt know. Our titles may be different, but they were equal in power, maybe hers is even higher in power than mine. If we were to argue, the court would surely support her. I know why she's suggesting this. I can tell. Shes insecure about her reason to be in heaven. But i know why she's here, and her lying when she was alive didn't contribute nor do any affect to that. In one way or another, she was even more powerful than Lucifer. The amount of fans, of love and support she has nearly equals the amount of Jesus' (no hate yall just fitting the story) I darent disagree with her.
"Fine. Let's suggest this to the faculty. See what they say." I answer slowly.
(after the meeting)
And of course. She won. Her suggestion was approved and she would be moving to hell as a disguised serafim in half a year. But first she had to learn to control her powers and learn to fight, in which she will train with the exorcists. Lets hope nothing goes wrong.
