CHAPTER 18

Sipping from her wine goblet she approached Daemon.

"I thought you were content on Dragonstone, seeing as you tried to rule over it. Why did you come back? It can't just be because you wish to taunt my father"

Daemon looks at her amused.

"I didn't even know you ruled over it. And I just need the comforts of home."

"I didn't tell you."

Daemon notices the necklace and touches it.

"Where did you get this?"

"Vaemon."She answers shortly.

"Valyrian steel. Impressive. Why?"

Daemon tries to fight his jealousy and mask it but it was clear to see.

"His courting me."

"Does my brother know?"

"He will know by tonight."

Daemon walks past her heading to the table filled with food and she follows slowly behind him. Emptying her goblet she goes to retrieve another when Daemon's hand stops her.

"You have had enough."he says placing a lemon tart in her hand.

She takes a bit from it and eats it. Daemon turns back and grabs a strawberry. He moves to her and places the strawberry by her mouth. She looks him in the eye and then back to the fruit. She slowly opens her mouth and keeps eye contact with Daemon as she takes a slow bite from the fruit. Daemon pulls his hand back as Rhaelys bites the fruit and puts the remaining fruit in his mouth, never breaking eye contact with her.

Rhaelys breaks the eye contact and moves to the table and grabs another. Daemon smirks and turns to her.

She took a bite from the strawberry and sends Daemon a glance and she finds him staring.

"What?"she asks moving her hands around.

"Aren't you gonna feed me one?"

Rhaelys picks up a strawberry and hold it up she starts moving it to his mouth and just as he was about to take a bite she pulls it back and bites it instead. She laughs and walks away hurriedly. Daemon sends her a playful glare and chases after her. She let's out squeals and laughs as Daemon almost catches her.

Viserys looks toward the commotion and sees Rhaelys looking carefree and it reminds him of his Aemma when she was younger. She runs towards him and puts him in between herself and Daemon.

"Save me father."She says holding onto Viserys arms. Viserys let's out a small wince but no one notices. Rhaelys ran once again leaving her father to watch her. A small smile adoring his lips.

A small council meeting was called and rhaelys took her seat next to Otto.

"The stepstones was suppose to be won for the realm, but over the past few days it seems we have traded a crabfeeder for a Seasnake."says Tyland Lannister.

Rhaelys sighs. When will they ever stop listening about that blasted place?

"Thus is clearly a rebuke for passing over lady Laena for queen Alicent."says Lyonel.

"Years have passed since the business with his daughter.  Certainly he cannot still be wroth ?" Viserys claims.

"The Seasnake is an overproud man to be assure, your grace. That pride has even injured,  perhaps we can  sell the wound."says Mellos

"Lord Corlys's pride is the least of our worries."says lord Beesbury.

"I don't wish to cause you further distress your grace but my brother has sent disturbing word from OldTown. Lord Corlys is said to have  engaged in negotiations with a sealord of Braavos. He plans to wed his daughter Laena to the sealord's son. If house Velaryon entered into an alliance with the free cities then we would have to seek out our own marriage pact."says Otto.
