CHAPTER 19

The next morning  Rhaelys wakes up and finds the bed empty. She slowly stands up. As she stands up she feels an ache between her legs,  the only evidence of her sin.

She walks to the chamber pot and relieves herself. Robyn enters the chambers. "Good morrow princess."She says smiling.

Robyn readies a bathtub for Rhaelys. "Good morrow Robyn."

As Robyn finishes the bathtub Rhaelys limps toward it and climbs in. She lets out a relieved sigh as she sinks in.

Robyn starts to help her bath and washes her hair. Rhaelys gets dressed and Robyn hands her a tray of food. Rhaelys sits at the table and starts eating in the bread with jam.

Robyn goes to make the bed when she notices the blood. She glances to Rhaelys. She grabs the sheet and walks to Rhaelys.

"Princess. May I have a word?"Robyn asks not wanting to offend the Princess.

"Did something happen last night?" Rhaelys stills at the question.

"I will not tell anyone, if that is what you're afraid of. I'm loyal to you princess."

Rhaelys swallows the bread in her mouth. She looks down in guilt but not regret.

"I didn't mean for it to happen it just did." Rhaelys says timidly. Robyn walks over to her and squats down.

"I will not share your secrets because they are yours but you have to be careful."reassured Robyn.

Rhaelys looks to Robyn. "Thank you. For being my friend." Robyn smiles and leaves the room.

Moments later Alicent enters looking mad. She stomps to Rhaelys.

"Where were you last night?"Alicent asked.Rhaelys was confused.

"In bed, you can ask the guard I never left."She answers furrowing her brows.

Alicent let's out a breathe relaxing.

"Why? What happened?"Rhaelys questions starting to worry.

"There were some allegations made."

"Allegations? What allegations?"

"People saw Rhaenyra in a position unfit of her station. It puts her reputation on the line. And people are starting to question yours."

"My what exactly? And what allegations?"

"Your virtue was put to question because...." Alicent couldn't finish.

"Because what alicent?" Rhaelys starts getting impatient.

"Rhaenyra was found in a pleasure house last evening."

Rhaelys is shocked. She couldn't believe that her sister would do something like this. Rhaelys sake her head and stood up.

"Thats a lie she wouldn't do something like that." Right?

Rhaelys starts pacing. "Who told you this?"

"My father reported it to the King, I was present."

Rhaelys slowly nods her head. "He might have been lied to."

"Do you believe my father would tell the king a falsehood?"

Rhaelys shakes her head"No"

Rhaelys went to the balcony doors looking out."With who?"she asks turning to face Alicent.

"Daemon"

Rhaelys sat in her bed. She was shocked about what she learned. She couldn't believe daemon would do something like that.

As soon as Alicent left. Rhaelys let a tear fall. He used her. Daemon used her. How long did he even wait before he slept with Rhaenyra before he came to her. She felt betrayed by Daemon but most of all from her sister.

Her sister who she cared about no matter what she did. But she wouldn't. Not anymore. The people she loved the most had hurt her and she would never forgive them.

Rhaelys was walking to the library when she heard her father in the throne room. Curiously she went and looked what the commotion was about.

She sees Daemon on the floor.

"My daughter." Viserys says walking around daemon.

"Which daughter?"

"You won't even deny it?"

"I need to understand the charge before I can attempt to discredit it."

"You defiled her." Viserys says kicking Daemon. He let's out pained groans causing Rhaelys to wince.

"Still you say nothing."

"What does it matter? When we were Rhaenyra and rhaelys's age we fucked our way through most of the brothels on the street of silk."

"We were young men. She is just a girl. Your niece."

"Which one are you speaking of?"

"Rhaenyra."

"Rhaenyra is a woman grown better her first experience be with me than some whore."

"You have ruined her, what Lord would wedher now"

"Who gives a fuck about what some Lord thinks. You are the dragon your word is truth and law."

"I have spent a lifetime defending you but your heart is even blacker than I thought. I should disinherite her as I already did you and be done with it."

"Wed her to me "

"When I offered up my crown you said I could have whatever I wanted. I want Rhaenyra", Rhaelys he wanted to say,"I'll take her as she is and we'd her on the traditions of our house "

Rhaelys felt her heart break.

"You are already wed."

"That didn't stop Aegon the Conqueror from taking a second wife."

"You're no conqueror, you're a plague sent to destroy me."

"Give me Rhaenyra to take to wife and we will return the house of the dragon to its proper glory."

"It's not my daughter you last for its my throne, but you the wrong princess. Go back to the vale daemon to your lawful wife strife restore whatever of honor remains in you. As long as you are gone from my sight for good."

"As you wish brother."

Viserys leaves the throne room walking past Rhaelys not noticing her. She enters and sees Daemon. She walks down the stairs.

"Rhaelys"

"I have been asking myself a question and I hope you could answer. It's very simple."

Daemon looked at her. He saw tears lining her eyes. She takes a shaky breathe. She fiddles with the ring on her finger.

"Last night when we...you know, did you go to Rhaenyra after or were you with her before."

Daemon looked regrettably at her. He hesitated to answer but that was answer enough.

Rhaelys let's out a dissapointed breathe."Oh. I was your second choice."

Rhaelys looks at him one last time and walks out. Daemon knew he had hurt her he just hopes he could make it up to her, somehow.
