Sakura
I turned on my left side to see the lights from the hall seeping in through the cracks under the door, then turned to my right to see the dusty lines on the window separating me from the outside.
The sky was dark, pitched black then slowly tiny white dots started appearing and something about them, about the way they stood still, shining brightly despite the darkness around them looked peaceful, calling.
So peaceful, my torturing thoughts escaped my mind for a minute. I didn't even realise that I had gotten out of bed and walked over to the window for a better look but having that clear wall between us made me felt trapped. I wanted to go out and by impulse, slowly, I creeped to the door and cracked it open.
The hall was empty, lighted by bright white light that coursed through every corner, leaving nothing in the dark and all for the eyes of the guards on surveillance.
I took one small step out cautiously and immediately my jaw drop, because there sitting on the floor, legs stretched out and head tilted to the side was the guard that was supposed to be watching me, snoring.
I had to check all around me to make sure I was seeing right and once I was sure I tiptoed over to him, being extra careful to not make any noise. I bent down and his eyes flew open. Everything within me went still on silence as he looked me dead in the eye, then scratched his head and repositioned himself to go back to sleep.
It was like he didn't even see me.
Piece of trash.
A small laughter of relief and surprise bubbled in my chest, but I kept it down, avoiding to make any noise as I now tiptoed away until I found myself on a clear path down the other hallway. I kept my head high, feigning confidence to not look suspicious in case anyone saw me and headed for the forbidden door that led up to the roof.
I felt a weight get lifted off me, a release of a breath I didn't even knew I was holding, once I stepped onto the roof. Cool, wet air welcomed me right away, caressing every inch of the skin I left out in the exposed from my small tank top and tiny shorts, and the midnight sky was a giant canvas spread out in front of me. The stars were beautiful, captivating where they shone in the sky.
It was captivating how their lights were not able to paint the sky white but could still be seen from miles away. They didn't allow the darkness to penetrate through them, even on a night like this with the quarter moon up, they were still the view.
They brought tranquillity, loud tranquillity that blocked out other noises, it was peaceful and very much what I needed. I just found myself closing my eyes and felt my head rest back when there was a sweet voice that whistled in the wind. A voice I knew all too well.
"Isn't it pass your bedtime?"
And just like that all that I knew of peace and tranquillity just vanished.
Is this motherfucker everywhere?
Regretting ever coming here, I turned to my left and met my foe sitting on a small ledge glued to the wall, with his arm resting on the leg he had propped up, bended at the knee. Even in the dark his silky, silver hair looked like perfect, soft curtains draping down his sides, his tanned skin was almost glowing, not even the power of the moonlight was able to blanch out his colours. Especially that of his bare chest where his shirt cut into a v-line past the thick, noticeable lines of his muscles.
I swallowed the saliva in my mouth, pouting.
Disgusting.
"Are you everywhere?"
