Nekane
"That mouth is gonna get you in trouble, Sakura." I said and she raised a brow at me, daring me.
How feisty she was. Almost like the sadness she was in a couple of days ago no longer existed. I hoped it didn't. Sadness was a pointless emotion. It held no value with no gain.
I went back to the original topic. The vial.
"Should I get rid of it? Do you want me to give it to the guard? Or should I plant it on Dimitri?"
Just at the simple mention of his name on my tongue had her entire face red with anger. Her knuckle had gone white from how tightly she was squeezing onto the blade in her hand.
Little Flower.
I was going to get rid of the vial, but then I thought why not bring it along with me on my way here. Just to taunt her.
The last two days were boring, they had me on patrol, going around looking for anything suspicious as if everything was normal here in the South. I needed some sort of entertainment and Sakura never ceased to do that.
I liked being around her, even when she pretended to hate the sight of me. I liked that little anger also. I was fascinated to see what that anger could do to someone she wasn't able to physically hurt. Plus, I knew that violence wasn't the way she wanted to release it on me, even if she tried so hard to be mad at me, I could see right through it.
Especially now as she glared at me with blazing eyes, I could feel the heat radiating off the corner of her body that held a different emotion.
"You try anything with him and I will kill you." She threatened through clenched teeth. "I don't care if it'll take me my whole life, I will find that poison and I will end you."
I smiled, weakly. It was sweet how she was ready to defend him but it still left a bitter taste in my mouth. A bitterness that I just wanted to spat out. Because I knew how people were. I've seen brothers stab each other in the back for a night with a prostitute, I've watched friends sharpened a knife and shoved it in the other's throat just for two pieces of silver.
She had already been betrayed once and who said it wasn't going to happen again. People were so stupid.
"That's a lot of passion for someone who wouldn't even do the same for you." I commented.
"I trust Dimitri."
"But he doesn't trust you." I took a step towards her, she took one back. It went like that, I one step forward, her one step back until her back hit the wall with nowhere else to go and I closed in on her.
She stared straight pass my shoulders for one second before the energy coursing between us was too strong for her to keep ignoring. She looked up into my eyes, tilting her head back because of the height difference. I was so close I could see the light brown dancing with the green, whatever bit of anger there was, was just a mask to hide the emotion that her body was giving away.
I could hear the small, elevating, pounding of her heart, her shaky breathing and I could feel the heat radiating off the area between her legs. I knew the effect that my closeness had on her. Similar to the effect that her closeness had on me.
"Do you know what people do when they don't trust someone?" I kept my voice firm and serious, fighting the urge to just bend down and take her right now. I glimpsed down at her pink, parted lips then back up at her eyes. The mask was gone now. All I could see, all I could feel was want. Almost begging me to have her.
"They will keep you close, so that they can stab you before you stab them." I reached down, tilted my head to the side and kiss the area between her jaw and ear before exiting the room.
The guard ran back to his place, fixing his position and acting normal as if I couldn't hear his heavy breathing from the other side of the room when he was trying to eavesdrop. I walked pass him, licking my bottom lip.
Her skin was soft, I remembered. If only I could've gotten a taste of it too, but not yet. I wasn't going to give her that satisfaction. That kiss was the only touch she was going to get, then she'll wait. She'll wait until her salacious hunger grew, until the want turned into need. A need so strong that she'll take it instead of having me give it to her.
I wasn't gonna make it easy for you, Little Flower.
