Sakura

I was back in the maze.

The flowers rustle through the blow of the wind, the cold air caressing my exposed skin from the high slit in my skirt. Purplish rubies dazzled from every inch of the thick material, sparkling under the bright light of the sun and with each movement I made, the cloth slid delicately like silk against my skin.

I could smell the rich scent of flowers, I could feel the small tickle of grass pricking under my feet, and his warm, firm hand in mine.

He guided our way. Giant, black feather wings on his back blocked my view to his face. All I could see were the thick veins running up his arms and how much taller he was than me.

All the sudden a slippery feeling replaced the tickling sensation of the grass pricking under my feet, the rich scent of flowers was washed out of the air to make room for a thin substance that hurt my nose.

I blinked and it was all gone. The walls of flowers were now nothing but reflective glass. Mirrors.

I watched in awe at the refection of my glowing skin, how my red hair dangled past my waist like strands of fire. The freckles dusting my cheeks and the hazel brown of my eyes dancing with life and youthfulness.

My eyes swayed over to the man and I woke up in my bed. The hammering of my heart and dryness of my throat welcomed me back to the real world, as my eyes took seconds to adjust to the dark room and my mind took time to realise it was all a dream.

Taking slow breaths, I rolled onto my side and froze when I met a tall, dark figure standing a few feet away. His back turned to the window, blocked out majority of light, casting shadows onto his front to reveal only broad shoulders and no glimpse of where he was staring.

Slowly I closed my eyes and when I opened again he was gone. The window was still locked shut and so was the door when I turned to look.

I must've still been dreaming.
