the silence was growing unbearable, each person in the room had paragraphs to speak but chose to remain quiet. out of the five of them chan deemed to be the most ridiculed, in fact he sat fidgeting constantly; his hands would be cupping his face one second, then be clenched upon his thighs the next. a storming argument was brewing in his mind, each word ready to pick at the people around him like lightning strikes.

"this is fucking unbelievable," he snickered to himself in a beyond sarcastic tone, each note of his laugh croaking then turning to a vocal fry. he landed his face in his palms whilst letting out an exasperated huff, his head shaking from side to side as he stomped his left foot on the ground before snapping his head upwards, eyeing every single one of them.

"please do share your opinions with the rest of us," minghao spoke in a snarky tone, him being one of the ones in the room to hide his anger the most. he had been the quietest of them all, the truth behind his silence being the slow yet harsh pummelling of guilt that had overcome his mind. he was one to pay upmost attention to everything, and although the night before he had been caught up in their argument regarding seokmin, he didn't miss the faint creaking coming from outside the door to their cabin, nor did he miss the flash of a figure walking away into the midst of the night.

chan shot him a bland stare before raising from his seated position on the sofa- the whole situation was growing so overwhelming as each second passed. normally in these kinds of situations seokmin would be the one to keep chan from blowing a fuse; alas, he finds himself here, with seokmin no where to be found. he crossed his arms above his head, his hands covering his eyes as he stood with his back to minghao.

"go on, start a hissy fit, break something or hit someone like you always do, that'll definitely help the situation," minghao normally knew when to stop, he knew when to not stir the pot even further. however, this time he pushed on, he threw those last few words that would easily tip chan over the edge, "do you think you're the only one who is stressed about what's going on? what the fuck is going on in that tiny ass brain of yours for you to think that you have the right to judge the rest of us for how we react to a situation?"

"when did i judge you? i haven't spoke a single word to any of you," chan was quick to stand his ground, his hands finding their way into his hoodie's front pocket, "in fact, nobody has said a word, we're all sat in silence for fuck knows why, if we actually did something seokmin probably would have been back by now!"

"chan come on, there's no need to be like that," junhui had to stop minghao from escalating things further by tuning in and trying his best to reason with the youngest without pissing him off.

"what?" he spoke in a rude manner, his lips pursing as he spoke, "am i not allowed to be worried about my friend?" he was obviously over their former cold behaviour towards seokmin and he finally found it within himself to express how he felt about the situation at hand, "listen to me, you can all sit around and give zero efforts to find him, but i am going out there to find him, because i care about him, and i want him back here so i can find out whether he's okay or not," with every word his voice grew in volume, his tone growing in annoyance as he brooded over the many thoughts of seokmin that remained caged in his mind.

"boo seungkwan," he spoke in a deadpan, his eyes dull as he sneered at the male who sat down with his head pointing downwards, "i can't believe i actually expected you to do something," his tone was full of disappointment, he ended with a scoff before making his way out of the cabin in a storm, "and you call yourself his friend?"

"chan," hansol called out as he elevated from his seat hesitantly, worry laced through his features, he didn't want chan to do anything stupid, especially not on his own. chan turned to look at him, the glare upon his face was enough to get hansol to sit back down again, but the male offered the youngest a warming smile, "i'm coming with, i might have a lead as to where he headed."

hansol had to hop over seungkwan's legs, and as he approached chan, the latter felt his mind clear for a moment. chan found himself returning hansol's smile, his heart lightening, as though hansol were the very definition of a glimmer of hope. the eldest of the two swung his arm around the other's shoulder as they stood in the doorway, using his free hand to ruffle his hair as he tilted his head to look back towards the three remaining people in the room, "i'm with chan on this one, the quicker we act the quicker seokmin comes back."

"come on, there's no time to waste," hansol squeezed chan's shoulder before guiding him through the door and outside. chan nodded almost giddily, for the idea of seokmin being back where he belonged brought such comfort that is indescribable. however no matter how much he tried to look on the bright side, he couldn't escape the overhanging thoughts that maybe something happened to him, something bad.

hansol looked back once more, sending a small wave of goodbye to minghao, junhui and seungkwan, his hand mostly aimed towards the last mentioned male, "don't worry, we'll find him."
